Check-in is at 3. By the time that we parked and got into the lobby area, it was about 3:04. There was a line of people waiting to check-in wrapped around the lobby.
The lobby and bar areas were full with people waiting. When it was our turn, we were told that no rooms were ready and that we would be texted when the room was available. I asked how long that would be and I was told "we don't know". Okay...will it be a few minutes, an hour, several hours? "We don't know".
The place was packed because of a concert that night (which we were attending) and the doors for the concert opened in less than an hour.
We had just driven nearly 4 hours and really wanted to shower before leaving.
The lady at the desk put us in the waiting list for a room and we went to the bar to sit. About an hour later, I asked my husband to head over to see where we were in line for a room while I watched our bags. Thankfully, he came back with a room key.
I understand that it was a busy day, but I think it's crazy that no rooms were available at check in time. They offered champagne as a "sorry", but it should have been a percentage off the room instead (especially for those of us who don't drink).
There was chewing gum on the baseboard in the hall leading to our room and the water being flushed from the rooms above us was incredibly loud if you were in the bathroom.
Otherwise, the room itself was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice. Parking was good.
the property is way too far to walk to NRG and the hotel elevator set up has dozens of people waiting to get on the elevator. the people who worked there couldn’t tell me whether i left my airpods there to come back and get them because they said they were too busy. they never called me back. i wouldn’t leave anything valuable in your room. the electronic chargers some don’t work for the cars and if you want to charge your car you have to pay extra and use a blink app. anyway if you have to walk a little further or pay more to stay somewhere else do it!
The pillows were the worst!! Flat old pillows, which were very uncomfortable and painful for my neck! Did not sleep well and would definitely not be coming back for the price that was charged!
From the moment we checked in at the front desk to our online check-out, everything was to my standards. Professional staff, clean room and the housekeeping staff made our stay comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely stay again once Houston Texans start the football season!
The experience was great. The only think they need to revise is the $15 fee guests pay for parking overnight. They should include it in their price of the room.
