La Serena - beautiful hotel with amazing staff

Excellent breakfast after a very comfortable night’s sleep. A wonderful boutique hotel in a perfect location. The staff were amazing. Everything about this hotel was just what we needed.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Rooms were great, modern and tastefully decorated. Nice location with great views. Close to lots of places to shop and eat. What made the stay perfect was really the staff. Cecile & María J were just great, offered advice and helped with a clothing emergency! Would definitely come back and stay here again!!

Lovely room but felt very expensive overall

We really liked our room, complete with bath and terrace. But overall the stay felt far too expensive for the experience. €400 a night. We stayed during a fiesta and perhaps got the feel it wasn’t the usual staff but service was generally just lacking. Not the usual Spanish hospitality. In case not clear note that the spa is not included and there isn’t even a discount for hotel guests. Also small like the breakfast being quite limited and then being charged extra at checkout having asked for eggs grated given the overall cost. But overall I think if the team had been more communicative the little things wouldn’t have got to us. Would not return at these prices.

Definitely earns the title of ‘boutique’ hotel.

I can’t find enough words to explain how wonderful our stay at La Serena was; beautifully decorated, relaxing, chic luxurious decoration, well positioned on the parameter of Altea old town. The service of this small family run hotel is exemplary, nothing too much trouble at all. Fantastic breakfast choices and great snacks to have by the pool as well as a very well stocked bar! 10/10, would recommend and would love to visit again.

Anniversary break

This hotel and its staff are superb, we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and had our room upgraded to another floor, the bedroom was very nice, comfy bed, lovely bathroom. We would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was delicious and we were very well attended. We did suffer a disappointment, down to Hotel.com, the advert for the hotel appears to be ambiguous regarding the Spa. The Spa is not included in the booking it is an extra 85euros for its sole use. I didn’t find this out until we arrived as I had not explored the hotels own website to read through the small Print. This was a great shame for us as the spa was a main factor in booking this particular hotel, but we thought the extra fee too high for us so had to miss out. We Still recommend this place very highly just be aware of the extra costs.

Amazing Charm and Luxury Hotel in Perfect Location

My fiance and I have just returned from spending 3 nights at La Serena. From the moment we arrived we were treated like we were the only guests in the hotel & we were made feel so special. Check in was done very efficiently by a tall gentleman, while we were taken onto the sun terrace by a lovely lady and both of us given a glass of cava. Once checked in the lovely gentleman showed us to our amazing room number 5 which was spacious and had the most scenic views of the mountains and sea. We were very impressed with the rustic charm and style of our room, it has got to be the best hotel room we have stayed in by far. The location of this hotel was perfect in the old town area of Altea a short stroll to the beach and few streets away was the beautiful square. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast on the sun terrace. We were totally blown away by this hotel, coupled with the fact that we rang a bell and our drinks were brought to the bar in glasses to us. When we were checking out again this was done really swiftly and the gentleman was very helpful, by organising a taxi. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, we were both totally amazed and cannot wait to return to it and experience more of it's charm and luxury.

Mediterraner Charme

Auf der Durchreise haben wir eine Nacht hier verbracht. Das Hotel liegt ein bisschen versteckt. (Selbst Einheimische kennen es nicht). Es hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl! Zimmer ausgesprochen geräumig und das Bett wirklich fantastisch. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat alles was man braucht. Für uns war es ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt.
