Only upon arriving at our island vacation at 9PM did our host Alex inform us that the apartment we rented was not available. Then put us up in a substandard unfinished apartment. A nightmare.

The room needs a lot of updating. There are no amenities. I had one very old towel, a small bar of soap, and two rolls of toilet paper sitting on the bed when I arrived. The kitchen sink leaks. I had to clean up water from the kitchen floor several times because of this. The host never responded to any messages in the VRBO app or what's app number provided when I had issues and questions during the stay, but people would randomly show up a day or two after and address the issues. Also an item of mine was taken from my room during my stay, I reported it and it was replaced the next day. Overall it just felt stressful and sketchy being there. I was happy to leave.

The place is in need of some updates but for what I paid I won’t complain. It has everything you need and is in a great location. I had a minor problem getting the door to lock after I arrived but was able to get on the phone with the property manager and it was resolved immediately. The AC worked great and the unit was clean. As a single woman I felt very safe.
