The property was somewhat old and definitelyoutdated. Several things definitely needed maintenance and/or updating. Parking was good and secure. Hotel location was on the beach and very nice despite no ocean or beach views from any room. Extra charges for what I thought should’ve been included such as having a friend stop by and hang out for a couple hours. $15 to register that friend. Evidently typically charged extra if you wanted fruit with your breakfast. All in all I would rate this place average.

South Beach

We stayed here in 2020 and the condition of the hotel is fetting run down. I love the pool, temperature just perfect. The breakfast, tho included, was very poor quality and stone cold. I would rather pay for my breakfast and get something good. The two servers were friendly

This hotel is right on the beach and has a great view from the bar. We liked that there were beach chairs and a nice big pool. The issue was the partying. The walls are paper thin and we had a huge party going on in the room next door: loud music and singing, dogs barking, you name it! Didn't sleep a wink!

The music from the bar is so loud it can be heard in the rooms and the beautiful patio can’t be enjoyed. The property is dated, the shower head is old and corroded, the bedside lamp didn’t work so the only light in the room was the overhead light. Access to the ocean is wonderful and the staff are very nice. We had a problem with check in, we reserved and paid in advance for 2 rooms for 4 adults and they couldn’t find the reservation for the 2nd room at first so we were told to sleep 4 adults in one room, when we refused the front desk staff said we were just out of luck for staying there rather than problem solve and told us to call Expedia for a refund. We finally asked her to call a manager and he quickly found the 2nd room. It was not a good experience and a terrible start to our stay.

Older charming hotel. Great traditional Costa Rica breakfast daily. Nice pool. Amazing beach. Able to rent boogie boards and take surf lessons. Efran at the beach bar was friendly and made great cocktails. Katherine at front desk was very helpful. She made arrangements for excursions and taxis and was so very nice. Sweet hotel dog Flocko was a memorable part of our stay. Would return.

Great full service little jewel!

what a great find! Ive stayed in Jaco at least a dozen times and this is my favorite resort to stay at from now on. Large rooms with comfortable beds, refrigerator, coffee maker, ceiling fan, AC and TV. We got a pool view room which was next to the beachfront bar and it has been great beeing able to just walk out to our little patio into the pool, bar and beach. Surfing lessons right infront of hotel, umbrella and beach chair services, and surf board/boggie board rentals. We trully have enjoyed our 4 days stay at South Beach hotel. The staff has been very friendly, entertaining and funny, including the awesome bartender who kept us entertained while having pina coladas by the beach. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples and friends. Its in the quieter part of the beach and just what we were looking for. I give it a 10.

A nice location just outside the main downtown area. Room was clean, breakfast was quick and tastey. Only negative was that there were many mosquitoes in the garden area that our room was located.

We travel to Jaco- South Beach hotel, have a wonderful time. Awesome just Awesome. The staff spoke English and shared their stories and experiences. Josh and Carlos and recommended hourse back riding and assisted in the booking. My husband, son and my daughter in law had a great time. What an amazing experience we had. We also traveled out and found Roots to River white water rafting- Oh my god we thought this trip couldn’t get any better-loved the team and WOW!!!Definitely would recommend- Thank you

Pool, breakfast with a view, and AMAZING staff!

What a pleasant surprise! We enjoyed HSB so much that we came back for an extra night at the end of our trip. No frills, but steps from the beach with a beautiful pool, fantastic kitchen, and the BEST service in the bar/restaurant. This will be a go-to for us on future trips, as it was an easy ride to SJO as well.
