The lift broke down. My family and I were stuck in the lift for almost 30 minutes. Inside the lift shaft, there was no phone signal, pressed the bell but no response. When finally got signal, it was weak and the emergency number was to the lift company and not the hotel.
After 30 minutes, we finally heard voices. Took another 15 minutes before they brought us to safety and opened the door.
When queried, staff said they have visual of us in the lift but the intercom was down. This was very traumatic.
The other lifts functioned intermittently when we used it. There were long pause before the lift started moving. It was very stressful after that experience.
There was no service recovery offered until asked. Free breakfast was offered to my family.
Strongly urge the hotel to check the lift especially during and after a thunderstorm.
