convenient location

The hotel was a good choice for us because of its location. just a 30-minute trip to the North or the South. also, conveniently located to restaurants within walking distance and the beach. The unit itself needs an update. the sofa in particular needs to be replaced. can't expect much more given that the price is modest.

Our ‘ocean view’ room faced another building. Could only see the ocean from the edge of our balcony or out in the hotel hallway. No ice machines available. Ended up not using the pool because we were reprimanded for having a can of soda while sitting on pool chairs, no drinks of any type allowed. The property is dated, however it is clean and less expensive than other nearby hotels.

We enjoyed the beautiful view from our balcony, maybe that was the VIP status, but it was perfect for our family. We loved the location, private beach for sunrise walks and the staff was awesome for check in, offering suggestions and providing beach chairs and an umbrella. The location was better than expected with walking distance to everything even a Jojo’s shaved ice and tons of restaurants. I’d prefer to stay here for a more laid back local feel than in Poipu with every tourist at the beach.

It is in desperate need of remodeling. Carpet is stained, counter is cracked, tub is really old. It probably needs fumigation too as we encountered a huge cockroach in the bathroom.

Definitely Worth a Stay

Plantation Hale Suites was well located (about halfway from the north and south shore areas). After reading some reviews complaining about the condition of the units, I was hesitant about staying here, However, our unit was in good condition, air conditioner worked fine (although a bit noisy which made watching tv a challenge with a high volume necessary), as did the ceiling fans. Kitchen was fairly well equipped with additional items available for checkout. Short walk to the beach across a small field, but the water was a bit choppy while we were there. Coconut Marketplace was a short 5 minute walk with shops and restaurants. Overall, I would recommend this place and stay here again.

We stayed in what appeared to be a one bedroom apartment, which was nice. The bedroom fan would not go on high, even though I tried multiple times. I can use some updating and fixes due to it looking as if it’s an older hotel. But overall, it was OK.

The staff are very friendly but the room was outdated. The mattress on the sofa bed was awful (old, dirty, uncomfortable). The location is great though.

Our apartment was very dated. It is nice place in general. Apartment smell was unpleasant- humid and moldy. We had issues with shower head(moldy) and bathtub stopper, however it was replaced by nice staff. Towel service was also not so good- there were multiple days when pool towels were not available due to laundry. Staff should work on it so towels will be available in the morning. I will also stress that at least 1 pan in the apartment should be non-stick as it was hard to cook scrambled eggs. People working at the Plantation Hale are very nice and pleasure to talk to. Any issues were addressed very quickly.

Good place to stay! 2 full sized beds plus 1 pull out sofa bed. Quiet neighborhood next to a shopping center. Room has a stove, microwave, full sized refrigerator and freezer, coffee maker. Has pots and pans, plates, silverware, and glasses. Good for family of 3 or 4 people. Would stay there again.

I would not recommend this place

It was a terrible stay as they didn't change the bedsheets. We could see hair on the sheets and it was very bad experience.. bugs in the room and not at all a pleasant experience
