Good for a stopover

A strange hotel, as it is part of a leisure complex. The building on the outside looks tired, but inside everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and the price paid was excellent. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and spoke good English. We were too tired to use the facilities but they were there if we has wanted to use them.

Ubicación buena. Pocas personas en servicio, amables en general. El sitio no ha sido renovado y es muy cómodo para acceder a las habitaciones, no hay servicio de restaurante todo el tiempo, solo un par de horas y no todos los días....

Hotel basic but good. Pool and sports hall facilities excellent for familes, especially if visiting nearby Europa Park. Breakfast good, but restaurant and bar openings erratic. If walking from Kenzingen Station, first entrance very confusing - no indication of reception.

Good hotel for the money

After reading some reviews from the summer I wasn't holding up much hope. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's slightly confusing on arrival maps says it's on your right. As you come over the bridge it is on the right but you need to turn left to go under the bridge to get to the carpark. Check in was easy and the lady was very friendly. The hotel is quirky as it's a sports centre too. Some corridors are quite dark. We booked for the pool and it looked lovely unfortunately our kids weren't well do we didn't use it. The main entrance shuts at 10 so I would use the other entrance when leaving so you know how to get back in. Also, you can check in after ten but you need to prearrange this so you have a lock box number. The room for 4 was spacious and clean. It was unusually hot the night we stayed so the room was very hot. There were two fans and the window opens completely. Breakfast was as you would expect for Europe. Bread, eggs, fruit etc. it was perfectly fine. There's a McDonald's and burger king and petrol station. Lidl 5 mins drive away in herbolzhiem. Kids wanted macds. So we didn't try the restaurant. I would stay here again and hopefully use the pool.

Not a great stay

Pool can only be used between 7-9 pm as members have use the rest of the day. No curtains in the room so you have to have the shutters down and can’t open the window, we were there when it was 34 degrees, no air con and pointless fan in the room, couldn’t open window. We were meant to stop for 2 nights but only stayed 1 as the room was so hot it was making us all feel ill. Food in the evening was over priced and not great. Breakfast was very lacking, couple of bread roll lefts and a bit of cheese. Dead spiders and flies everywhere in the breakfast room.

closed front door

problem with hotel entrance closure On arrival was informed front door closes at 10pm and one has to use the back door entrance with room key, What is not said or fully told is their are TWO rear doors one for rooms 31 upwards and for rooms 1to 29 they do not fully explain this and my wife myself and our great grandson aged 8 found ourselves locked out at 8PM ON SUNDAY night, and we could only find 1 rear door WHICH DID NOT GIVE US ACCESS TO OUR ROOM, no worriestheir is a phone number on the receipt NO THIS NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE try number on front door THIS NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE EVEN AFTER !10 MINUTES OF REDIALLING, If it had not been someone hearing my wife shouting for help we probably would have had to spend the night in our car, PLEASE PROVIDE A FLOOR PLAN SHOWING WHERE ACCESS IS it is not rocket science.

Hotel correct pour aller a europa park et rulantic

Aucun personnel ne parlait francais (alors que c'etait indiqué sur l'annonce) et seulement certains parlaient anglais... Il n'y avait pas de wifi dans la chambre. L'hôtel est bruyant ... on se fait reveiller dès 7h du matin par les sportifs qui font leur muscu/cours à l'etage au dessus de nous. Par contre, il est bien placé si vous allez à Europa park ou rulantica... 15 min environ e. Voiture 😉

Die Zimmer waren sauber und praktisch eingerichtet. Das Hotel ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und liegt im Industriegebiet von Kenzingen. Frühstück ist okay. Zum Essen sind wir abends nach Herbolzheim gefahren. Das ist sehr empfehlenswert. Im Hotel selber gibt es ein Bistro, das abends geschlossen ist. Leider auch keinen Kühlschrank, aus dem man Getränke entnehmen kann, wenn man abends etwas Trinken möchte. Für unsere Zwecke, Besuch von Rulantica und Europapark war es okay.

Accueil après 16h30. Des clients parlant la langue arrivés après nous, passent avant nous. Why not? On a le temps. L'hôte d'accueil a été tres gentil et serviable. Chambre correcte même si les rideaux étaient arrachés, le sèche-cheveux et le ventilateur minuscule faisaient sautés l'électricité de la chambre. Les matelas nous ont causés des insomnies sans compter la chaleur dans la chambre et les voisins du quartier que nous entendions fortement. Les +++ : la gentillesse du personnel, l'accès aux installations sportives, le petit-dejeuner riche et varié, proche d'Europa-Park.
