Hotel basic but good. Pool and sports hall facilities excellent for familes, especially if visiting nearby Europa Park. Breakfast good, but restaurant and bar openings erratic. If walking from Kenzingen Station, first entrance very confusing - no indication of reception.

Good hotel for the money

After reading some reviews from the summer I wasn't holding up much hope. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's slightly confusing on arrival maps says it's on your right. As you come over the bridge it is on the right but you need to turn left to go under the bridge to get to the carpark. Check in was easy and the lady was very friendly. The hotel is quirky as it's a sports centre too. Some corridors are quite dark. We booked for the pool and it looked lovely unfortunately our kids weren't well do we didn't use it. The main entrance shuts at 10 so I would use the other entrance when leaving so you know how to get back in. Also, you can check in after ten but you need to prearrange this so you have a lock box number. The room for 4 was spacious and clean. It was unusually hot the night we stayed so the room was very hot. There were two fans and the window opens completely. Breakfast was as you would expect for Europe. Bread, eggs, fruit etc. it was perfectly fine. There's a McDonald's and burger king and petrol station. Lidl 5 mins drive away in herbolzhiem. Kids wanted macds. So we didn't try the restaurant. I would stay here again and hopefully use the pool.

Not a great stay

Pool can only be used between 7-9 pm as members have use the rest of the day. No curtains in the room so you have to have the shutters down and can’t open the window, we were there when it was 34 degrees, no air con and pointless fan in the room, couldn’t open window. We were meant to stop for 2 nights but only stayed 1 as the room was so hot it was making us all feel ill. Food in the evening was over priced and not great. Breakfast was very lacking, couple of bread roll lefts and a bit of cheese. Dead spiders and flies everywhere in the breakfast room.

closed front door

problem with hotel entrance closure On arrival was informed front door closes at 10pm and one has to use the back door entrance with room key, What is not said or fully told is their are TWO rear doors one for rooms 31 upwards and for rooms 1to 29 they do not fully explain this and my wife myself and our great grandson aged 8 found ourselves locked out at 8PM ON SUNDAY night, and we could only find 1 rear door WHICH DID NOT GIVE US ACCESS TO OUR ROOM, no worriestheir is a phone number on the receipt NO THIS NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE try number on front door THIS NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE EVEN AFTER !10 MINUTES OF REDIALLING, If it had not been someone hearing my wife shouting for help we probably would have had to spend the night in our car, PLEASE PROVIDE A FLOOR PLAN SHOWING WHERE ACCESS IS it is not rocket science.

 mais visiblement, nous Ă©tions les seuls. Pas une Ăąme Ă  l’horizon, et impossible de joindre qui que ce soit. AprĂšs une bonne demi-heure d’attente, miracle une personne arrive ! Si vous rentrez. PassĂ© 20 h, surprise ! L’arrivĂ©e se fait par une porte dĂ©robĂ©e Ă  l’arriĂšre — un vrai jeu de piste, sans les indices. Deux nuits sur place, et aucun service: pas de mĂ©nage, les serviettes sont restĂ©es humides et inchangĂ©es, et le distributeur de savon
 lui aussi a pris des vacances. Mention spĂ©ciale au monsieur du petit dĂ©jeuner, qui semble avoir Ă©garĂ© son sourire quelque part entre la cuisine et la salle. Accueil glacial garanti ! Une bonne nuit

Suite Ă  une journĂ©e passĂ©e a Europa Park, nous nous sommes rendu dans cet hĂŽtel pour y passer la nuit dans une chambre a 4. Nous avons bien dormi, la literie Ă©tait confortable. Le petit dĂ©jeuner Ă©tait bien. Juste un petit dĂ©faut de mĂ©nage : 1 bouteille d'eau restait dans la chambre et le mĂ©nage non fait sous les lits. De mĂȘme, la ventilation de la salle est bruyante mais s'arrĂȘte automatiquement au bout d'un temps lorsque l'Ă©clairage de la salle de bain est coupĂ©.

Die Fotos bei ebookers sehen einladender aus, als das Hotel und die Umgebung in Wircklichkeit aussieht. Bis spÀt Abend wir Tennis gespielt, was man je nach Zimmer hört. Es ist nicht sicher ob ein Koch am Abend im Restaurant kocht, wenn das nicht der fall ist muss mann ins Dorf gehen um dort essen zu können.
