Great location(patio looking down Kern River) and views and close to restaurants. People we encountered were very friendly. One down side, water was down/shut off the most of second day due to plumbing work for water leak, caused us inconvenience.

Perfect location for a quiet retreat in the mountains. The views are spectacular, as you see mountains and the Kern river from pool balconies. We got to see mountains on our balcony. Rooms are quiet and balconies are private. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. Lots of parking, and I felt extremely safe. Lots of toiletries, teas, coffee, and water. Easy check in and check out. Definitely would stay again!

Over all 4.5. The staff is so nice and very accommodating. We had a couple mishaps, but i think its due to the age of the property. Staff was quick to jump on it. We would stay here again.

Wunderbar gelegene Lodge, in Flussnähe (mit Zugang per Treppe). Zimmer mit Kamin. Großes Badezimmer. Einziges Manko waren die quietschenden Betten/Matratzen, der Schlaf war dennoch gut.

Amazing lodge with a beautiful view of water running through forests and a mountain in the background. Their neon sign is reason enough to pick the places, it’s gorgeous! Everything was walkable. We loved this little town as well.

The Whispering Pines is a great mountain retreat. We were greeted by a colorful neon sign. I love the wood cabin feel of the rooms. The bathroom was extremely large with two sinks, a separate shower, and a separate tub. Our room overlooked the mountains and river, which was gorgeous. We even had a balcony. The staff made sure we had all the information we needed upon check in. The location is extremely convenient—right outside the main center of Kernville. Our only issue was that the bathroom floor was a bit sticky, and our ceiling fans had a lot of dust buildup on them. The pool overlooking the mountains is nice, but if it were heated, that would be better since the water stays cold due to the cold nights.
