Liked: Cleanliness
The place is clean and convenient for walking and dining. The only concern is the cleaning chemicals are so strong in the room, it bothered us a little bit.
Every staff member we encountered was excellent. Polite, friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Great location. Lovely grounds. The guestroom is showing a little wear, some minor damage, could use a bit of updating.
Average but priced good for the Keys. The pool was nice and the bar- restaurant was good, too. Great service at restaurant. The room was not great. We had a studio room… with kitchenette. Cupboards old and chipping paint. Locked bifold door was off hinges and tilted. Poor lighting in kitchen. Floors need to be steam cleaned with grout cleaner. Ceiling holes with patches. Bed was decent. Space size was good. It’s just not well maintained. Again, for the price , I’m not heart broken but I’ll stay elsewhere. Manager in fish bowl office- that was not tidy, either. Breakfast was free and ok.
I reserved a two bed. The room only had one bed and was extremely small. The office was closed so I had to drive to the neighboring hotel to check in.
Limited parking so I had to park at a restaurant a half mile away. Which signs recommend, so this must be an ongoing issue.
Older property but great view of marina when patio doors open. Fresh towels daily. Good value for the money. Community facilities appeared fairly new and within walking distance (pools, tennis, walking trail, playground, baseball diamonds, workout stations, disk golf, plus the pool facilities at the Holiday Inn)
The online pictures made the place look much better. So we decided to have a snack and drinks before heading to our room. If it were not for the 2 eateries on the property, I don't think this would be considered a resort or would be a 3-star hotel.
I was disappointed with the condition of the room, but who's on vacation to be in a room anyway? The walls were dingy, and the tub appeared to have been wiped clean, but it was clogged with hair from previous guest(s). When I reported the condition of the room to the front desk the next day, they sent housekeeping within an hour. I could see that the cleaning staff worked hard to keep the common areas in as good a condition as possible. The weather was under 40 degrees outside in the evening, and we had to call maintenance twice to fix the issue. The front desk was rude the second time I called for the heat and never said she was sending anyone; she just hung up on me. Management did not offer any resolution to make our stay more comfortable, offer a discount, change room, or offer to give us an upgrade. The bottom line is that the place is run-down and needs better management and owners who care and will invest in some renovation. I would not stay here again but would love to visit Jaselyn at Sharkey's Sharkbite Grill.
The location is very good, excellent restaurant bar next door. Although the hotel is clean it is very tired, needs an upgrade. Our fridge started to make a terrible noise during our last night, no one onsite after 10pm. Mentioned it on checkout, no apology.
The biggest attraction of this property is its connected marina. The wild birds, fish and reef wall around the boardwalk have some amazing sights to behold. We saw an iguana and a lemon shark and lots of pelicans seemingly resident there. You can enjoy your continental breakfast at the outdoor patio outside the reception hall, while watching nature showcase its magic.
