When we booked our stay, it was advertised as an adults only resort but apparently they changed it and never cared to notify us otherwise we would’ve booked elsewhere. There were a ton of kids destroying the resorts outdoor area and we said something to the staff and neither the staff or parents of the kids refused to do anything about it. Fire alarms went off just about every day and there was no running water due a “plumbing” issue for a good part of the one day. Also the island lost power (not their fault) but once it came back on, the resort struggled to get their WiFi up and running again which resulted in the outside bar being cash only for a day. All of these issues forced us to do things outside of the resort so we would’ve stayed somewhere a little cheaper if we would’ve known.

The property was very clean. We loved the bar/ pool area. However, we were bot told ahead of rime or when we checked in that construction was happening at the hotel. We would wake up to jack hammering at 8 am every mor ing that went on throughout the day and could be heard at the pol area also. Not making for a relaxing time at the pool. We could not go back in the heat of the day for a bap or to watch TV because the construction noise was so loud. Also, when I booked in March it was adults only. This was clearly not the case when we got there a child's baseball team was there celebrating their championship. this was great for them. But the resort never let it be known it was no longer an adults only resort. This would have changed where I stayed.

The hotel is right across from the water. The front desk was always staffed. Room was clean. Rates were good. The free shuttle was nice to have but not reliable. We arranged for it to pick us up from the airport but we waited an hour for it. We did not use it to return to the airport. Also, there are two shuttles and two drivers. If one of them is out, there is only one shuttle running so the wait can be long. The food provided there is alright but the restaurant is understaffed and inefficient. Our biggest issue was the closet in our room. It looked clean but it wreaked of mildew or mold. Anything kept in the closet smelled bad. We had to wash clothes multiple times to remove the odor.

We are return customers of Havana Cabana which speaks for itself. However, when we booked the hotel was “adult only”. We were looking forward to that but it was not the case. There was an entire youth baseball team staying at the hotel.

Overall we had a good time, with a few inconveniences during our stay, such as a power failure, the hotel alarms going off, and there was no internet, which meant we had to pay in cash at the bar. One of the staff was a bit uncomfortable, and there was no music in the pool.

Pillows were flat and hard. Lost sleep because my neck hurt from pillows. Pool was beautiful, breakfast food was horrible and way overpriced. Breakfast food was minimal for nearly $20 per plate. Staff was friendly. Wild iguanas were pretty cool wandering around the property.
