First room crawling with ants. Given a second room which was fine. Extended stay for 4 days. Then first day we were moved back to the section with the ants. This was ridiculous since the hotel was virtually empty. Breakfasts were spartan.

Found the check-in person to be very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Although the res indicated complimentary cont. breakfast, was advised at 9:30 am that it was closed, really? Again this was from Mr. Personality so wasn't a surprise.

The colonial resort is a nice place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They have quiet and peaceful places to sit and enjoy nature. The resort could really use some love. It seems to be trapped in the 90s. If the outdoor pool gets a facelift, the grounds are kept up and the rooms get the love they need this could be a 5 star resort. Only major problems, were the strange location of the TV in the deluxe room, a few ants, and not enough pillows.

In it's day, the property was probably spectacular. It had a tennis court - now weeds growing up thru the cracked asphalt, fences broken, looks old and too big to maintain properly. Breakfast is 2 types of cereal, a few muffins, coffee, & toast. Neither of the 2 staff members encountered were friendly. Room was cold & basic with laminate flooring and no mat at the door on which to put my shoes .. but, I was looking for the cheapest I could get and so I got it. It did keep the rain off my head. :)

Excellent deal

It was a very nice, colonial style resort. There was complimentary breakfast too, and even a microwave. There was a game room too with pool, and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. It is also a 15 min walk from the gananoque 1000 island cruise starting point. A very good deal at an excellent price.

I was very disappointed in the condition of this property. Had to switch rooms but staff were very accommodating. Continental breakfast was a huge letdown. Bread bags for people to grab in a non clean way, muffins, a few yogurts available coffee. Grounds were not kept up. I had reservations prebooked for a month from now and have since cancelled.
