Pros: Great location! Close to everything… very convenience for tourist exploring Kyoto. Cons: I book a room for 4 people and realistic we only got a room with 2 twin beds, ideally for only 2 people. Very hot at night, property doesn’t have AC and upon request you can get a fan delivered to your room.

Loved this location, super close to everything and next door is Yasaka shrine. Only a 15 minute walk to Ninenzaka. Building is currently under construction so was a little hard to find in the beginning since the sign was covered. Was a little hot in the room, they only have heat and fan but when the fan was turned on it would just have warm air. The window was unable to open since front was under construction.

Walking distance to all the activities I had planned, easy to get to via transportation. Only problem I had was that it was too hot. The staff provided me with a fan and that helped cool down the room a bit.

Location of the property was great. Close to bus stops for you to travel to different places. A block away to the main Gion street. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I recently stayed at APA Hotel Kyoto Gion, and it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the basic amenities provided. The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. The location was convenient, close to local attractions and public transport. Breakfast offered a decent variety of options, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was welcoming.

Since this hotel has allows smoking in specific rooms, the smell is very strong. It was so unpleasant, my partner and I booked a different hotel in Kyoto and didn't complete the stay at APA Hotel Kyoto Gion. I suppose the only good thing about this hotel is that it's location is very convenient and the area around it is really nice;near a temple and a bunch of shops.

Truly honest staff and cleaning person. My wife lost her wedding ring, left it in the hotel room was notified by the hotel staff and when we called the front desk person (he was very helpful). We came back and picked up the ring without problems. A for honesty and good front desk team from the moment we checked in, arrived early they offered to store our luggage until we checked in later in the evening.
