This is more of a practical value stay than a standout hotel experience. The location is excellent—close to plenty of attractions and conveniences. The tatami room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for luggage and a well-thought-out layout. However, I’d strongly recommend the hotel consider a no-kids policy for the onsen. During my last visit, the experience was unfortunately disrupted by a father and his two young sons shouting and splashing around, treating the bath more like a pool. I had just settled in but ended up leaving immediately, which was disappointing and completely broke the otherwise relaxing atmosphere.

Location was perfect. There are 2 Double Trees in Kyoto. The one near the train station is convenient but far from the sites. This Double Tree is a 10-min cab ride from train station but walkable to the sites of old Kyoto.

Able to getvthe room nice and cool for my hot blooded husband. Only downside this hotel was having a toom on the second floor is just about street level, make sure you keep curtains closed.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a safe and ,clean environment .The staff is very attentive .The rooms are very clean .The bathroom has a nice tub and also a shower..There is also have separate female and male spa area..Whenever I return to Japan this place will always be our first choice.

Traditional Japanese room was very cute, beds very comfortable. The gym is amazing!! It was the highlight of this hotel for me as well as the staffs willingness to help us with any issues. They helped with Yamato transport as well.

The location is great. The hotel is maintained well. Most of staff are friendly. However, I was struggling the traffic noise every night as my room was at the lower floor and facing the busy road. I asked for a quiet room at the counter specifically. It was very disappointing that the staff still assigned the room with the poorest location to us. I doubted whether it was because I booked the stay through expedia as the third agent. Anyway, I hope at least ear plugs are provided, or staff could be more responsive to customers request.

The room is really dark. I had to use a compact mirror by the window to put makeup on. Even the make up mirror was dim. Weird. There is only a hand held shower. Disappointing not to have an overhead shower like the other Hilton’s. The restaurant staff is over the top nice and attentive but I wish they served “real” coffee. Vending machines don’t cut it for me and their drip coffee was gross. The guy who makes the fried eggs was great too.
