Room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, but staff was very accommodating and changed out bed sheets immediately. Area is quiet, but far from everything. Closest convenience store is about 5 minutes away, closest train station about 11 minutes away. Not much to do late at night and not many nearby dining options available. Rooms decor and amenities are very nice, and staff is very helpful. Just based on location, I don’t think I’ll be back since it made moving around a bit more difficult with a lot more walking and transfers needed.

It was an excellent hotel, with a comfort and beautiful room. I’m in love with the courtyard next to reception. The breakfast buffet was amazing.

The hotel is very nice, good room size to Japan, clean and updated. But not well located, took some blocks to the station. Very local neighborhood so not to much to do. Could use a restaurant to assist as there is no much around.

Love this cute and cozy property in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. The hotel is very peaceful and “zen”. The room looked like a wonderful traditional japanese room. It is not located in a shopping or busy area. The closest subway station is about 5-10 mins walking. Staff is very friendly. Very clean. Will be back very soon.

The rooms are amazing and the amenities provided are top notch. Each day they stock your coffee, water, juice and tea. I for one love coffee and the drip coffee bags tasted amazing. I did not have the included breakfast here because the price is rather expensive for a breakfast, but I'm sure the food is great if it is anything like the evening waffles and whiskey service they offer. Location is okay being near the castle, but if you are taking public transit, note the nearest subway station is about a 20 minute walk. But Uber/taxi prices are not bad from Kyoto Station around 2000 yen. I would definitely stay here again. The staff are all incredible and the hotel is very be clean and comfortable.

Fall trip to Kyoto

Stayed at the property for 5 nights. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is its location. The bus routes u are most likely to take as a tourist pass within 100m of this hotel, so getting around is a breeze.

Great location to enjoy a quiet neighborhood with local coffee and shopping but only a ten minute walk to nearest train station. Rooms are spacious and staff was very kind and helpful, would recommend this property to anyone travelling to the area.

The room design was excellent and the best we stayed in during our trip to Japan. The room was very user-friendly and comfortable. The hotel is in a lovely neighborhood that is less busy than the area near the train station.

Lovely retreat in Kyoto!

We loved this location and everything about the hotel. The service and welcome were exceptional! The rooms were large and very inviting with all amenities needed and then some. It was such a lovely room to relax in at the end of long walking/exploration days in beautiful Kyoto. I could not recommend this more highly especially for the cost! I would definitely return here again.
