Really clean and comfortable room. Great location to explore Kyoto and surrounding areas from. The room was quiet with all the ammenities we needed.

Very nice and new hotel and room but not practical. The bath layout is not convenient and not private. Suitable (maybe) for couples only. No closet, but only few hangers on the wall. No place for suitcases. No towels hangers. The window glass is coated - you cannot see anything outside. Better if they were using regular windows + curtains. Almost no stuff - you are directed to a machine for check in and out. Complementary breakfast is a disaster and better if was not proposed - poor variety and very low quality. Good location and good bedding.

Our stay at Prince Smart Inn was amazing, the room was spacious enough for 2 people and the laundry facilities were easy to use and very tidy. The best of all was the staff, they would greet us with a friendly smile and were very helpful when we needed something. Would highly recommend this hotel. I’m looking forward to my next stay here. I normally don’t leave reviews after my stays, but my experience with this hotel has made me leave one. Thank you for your friendly hospitality.

Great location on a quiet street close to public transit and shopping / dining areas. Rooms are a larger Japanese size but spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds and pillows and fantastic spa shower. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice touch with free eco-friendly amenities. The hotel has a cool vibe -- the sort of place where you wouldn't mind hanging out in the lounge. Great choice for couples and solo travelers.

The hotel is located in a great area where there are a lot of good restaurants and shops, and the room is with good size comparing to other hotels which I have stayed in the past.

I had a wonderful stay at Prince Smart Inn. I was greeted with the bubbliest of receptionists who helped me get checked in and greeted me every time I passed, full of personality who even offered to give me change for my bill (albeit they didn't have enough) but it was still a lovely gesture regardless. Another receptionist called a hotel for me to arrange luggage transfer with another hotel as I had issues calling them (the luggage transfer was next door). Having free breakfast in the morning was also convenient and the people serving were also really nice. The location was awesome and right next to the bustling Teramachi street and only a few minutes walk from public transport and Nishiki street. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for six luggages (two carry on) and the bathroom was nice. Laundry was a bit of an issue as there was only two machines in the entire hotel from what I could find, making it hard to do laundry during the night. But overall had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay again!

Great modern hotel with surprisingly spacious rooms for Japan. Good architectural design though has low bulk heads that may not suit tall people. Great shower so much better than an old school bath. Couldn’t fault the place though the poor staff did sometimes look like they wished they could be somewhere els other than old lady the cafe at breakfast was such a joy. Not keen on the AI alarm clock. Best to unplug it so it’s not spying on you the whole time. My only complaint is they are more concerned with aesthetics over service. I would still recommend the hotel and stay there again.

This is more of a hostel than a proper hotel. It is very basic and at times surprising at lack of amenities and free breakfast is terrible (power soup, bad coffee, stale bread and a boiled egg). For example, there are no cups/ kettle in the room. They only provide one bottle of water and there are signs at cafe in morning where breakfast is served that you cannot request hot water and you can only use 2 oz cups provided for water. I’d rather stay at a capsule hotel at 1/5th the price as bathroom is very basic and in not in a separate room. This is a good option when prices are low but very poor value for $300 Canadian a night when there are hotels in the area that are so much better. Will not be recommending or staying here again due to abundance of much better options in Gion.
