Be Aware!! So you can enjoy

Pro: great location, modern decor, this one has beautiful hot spring like large bath with spa ambiance Con: 色々めんどくさい。this hotel has many irregular rules so be aware!! 1: check in is 5pm NOT 3pm like others, 2 self check in style so you would be asked to enter many info at the lobby. When you are exhausted it’s too much. 3. To open the room door, you put the key card to the HANDEL and not the door panel like other hotels. 4. To go community bath, bring your own towels. There is no towel at he bath place. The hotel crew didn’t explain any of those so I keep running around.

Staff were great. Room was modern and location was great. Only thing is the check in time is really late for a hotel. They offered us a free drink but couldn’t use it until after check in. Given a lot of people arrive by train earlier in the day, although we could store our luggage, when we returned an hour before check-in to see if our room was ready, the free drink would’ve gone a long way rather than offering to charge us for an extra hour. Aside from that, it’s a modern property in a great location.

Best hotel I have stayed at in Japan!

Best hotel I stayed at during my two week solo trip to Japan. This hotel has so much space in the rooms felt like I was in my own suite compared to other Japan hotels. Loved that the shower and toilet area were separated into there own rooms. Didn't check out the sauna and onsen but they would be nice to use after walking around Kyoto all day.

Just the best

Best hotel i have stayed in Kyoto Great staff. Very comfortable room. Breakfast was really delicious. The onsen in the hotel is wonderful. Nice bar to relax in the evning. Close to 2 metro station. We stayed for one week and enjoyed every moment in the hotel. Wish to be back soon!!!

This is a modern japanese hotel with a public bath and spa. The vibe and the design of the lobby restaurant and amenities are an expression of modern kyoto. The rooms are minimalistic but sufficient and intimate. Walking distance to major locations such as Kiyumizu-dera, Kodai-ji temple,Hokanji temple, Sannenzaka , ninenzaka, and a stop away from Kyoto Station. I felt like the place is young fresh and got more value than what I paid for. The buffet breakfast got practical selection but quality fare. I recommend this place for the stylish budget conscious traveller

The hotel is very clean, beautiful, and spacious. They had free happy hour for guests who stayed at their hotels so that was a nice perk. I didn't notice any shopping areas nearby so for those who are looking to shop might need to venture out further. There are a few restaurants down the block so its pretty convenient for some late night meals.

Felt like the place was run by people who don’t know what they are doing. Basic things like being able to order multiple drinks without having to pay for them individually seemed off. They are trying to be high tech for the sake of it.

Not recommended

Nice looking and modern hotel but it is cheap and trying hard to save cost so they dont do room service (every other day I think), in room poorly design with cheap material. What's up with baby plexiglass material cups? Not recommended.

Comfortable but too Western

Too Western: only a shower and no furo-type tub. The breakfast and dinner were good but there was very little Japanese food. The lounge in the lobby was comfortable but it felt like a Western hotel. The lounge even had a dress code forbidding wearing hotel slippers. The evening music was terrible, just a repetitive pounding of electronic percussion.

Horrible and Never Again

The staff was great but the beds are HORRIBLE and the Pillows are like rocks extremely uncomfortable.I called reception for an additional pillow and they said nope only 1 per bed. Worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
