Beautiful classic architecture and landscaping with koi pond. Very clean, comfortable and delicious vegan bento box. Staff were all very helpful. Wonderful way to fully experience the uniqueness of Kyoto.

We loved our stay at the Sunrise Suites! It felt like a real oasis in the city. Granted this is in a quieter part of Kyoto but it still felt very tranquil, set back from the road and with lots of nature incorporated into the design. The hotel is very convenient to a bus line that goes into the main parts of the city as well as just a quick walk from a train station. All of the staff were very helpful. The daily breakfast was absolutely delicious! Very comfortable room. Also a beautiful view of Toji Tower from the balcony! Highly recommended.

Very comfortable with a washer/dryer in the bathroom. Beautifully decorated room. Across the road from a picturesque pagoda. Fairly close to Kyoto station but a long way from the main tourist areas: it took us 40 minutes to get to the meeting place for our walking tour of Gion. The sliding panels let through lots of light so you may need an eye mask. Excellent staff who were kind and helpful when I was unwell.

Perfect Spot for a week in Kyoto

Sunrise Suites is comfortable. The staff is friendly. It's a beautiful property complete with a zen sand garden in the courtyard area. Plus, it's only one train stop from Kyoto station. The location, comfort and aesthetic was exactly what I was looking for. I would stay again!

Lovely Japanese style hotel with friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed the complimentary Japanese breakfasts daily that were delivered to our room at a time we chose. Rooms were immaculate and cleaning done daily with fresh towels. Enjoyed looking at the koi fish and beautiful views of the pagoda from the rooftop garden. Very convenient to train station and restaurants. Highly recommend!

Wow! What an absolutely delightful place to stay. The accommodation provides a more authentic Japanese experience compared to more corporate style hotels. The staff are incredibly helpful and the location is great, 5 minute walk to the nearest underground station and 15 minutes to Kyoto Station. The view of the world heritage site Toji Temple from the rooftop is stunning. We had an amazing stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for good value accommodation in Kyoto.

Would recommend.

Amazing hotel, the style was lovely, it had good connections to rail and bus. The staff were friendly and the washer dry was a nice inclusion. The morning breakfast was really nice and a great way to start the day. Would definitely recommend staying here

The accommodating size for a tall person was a great plus! Everything was very clean. Towel service was great and having the washing drier in room for laundry usage was very helpful (you need to bring your own detergent, though). Plenty of electric outlets throughout the room.

This was a really nice little boutique hotel, and the washer/dryer, was a very nice added touch, even if it was a little rough on the clothes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that potential guests should know is that, in our room at least, there were no blackout drapes, which meant that it got light fairly early in the morning in late May. (The window coverings that were there did provide good privacy.)

Cute spacious room, sliding doors, kitchen and washing machine in room. Zen-like decor and friendly staff. Just a few minutes walk from Tōji station, convenience store next door and Toji Temple directly across the street.

Great place to stay in Kyoto.

This is an excellent place to stay near Kyoto. It's right across from the Toji temple and about 15 min walk from Kyoto station. Our room was decorated in a modern interpretation of Japanese style with elegant features and a lot of beautiful wood. Kitchen and bathroom had full set of amenities, including a stove top, refrigerator and a washer/dryer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast options were delicious.
