Our recent stay in Kyoto, Japan was absolutely magical! From start to finish, the hotel exceeded all our expectations. We were celebrating our 7th anniversary, and Koji, the incredible Assistant Manager, along with his team, made it unforgettable with their warm congratulations, a thoughtful gift, and an upgrade to a stunning corner room on the highest floor! The level of hospitality and attention to detail was truly next level. Our room was spotless, and housekeeping refreshed our amenities daily, ensuring everything was perfect. Breakfast buffet was a delight—delicious food with lots of options, a clean and cozy dining space, and the most attentive staff! Convenience was another highlight: a Family Mart right next door with its own hotel entrance, making it so easy to grab snacks or essentials. The location couldn’t be better—just a 3-minute walk to the JR station, next to a gorgeous city park, and a stone’s throw from amazing attractions like the Train Museum (4 mins), the aquarium (5 mins), and Kyoto Station (18 mins) For families, it’s super kid-friendly with so many activities nearby! Oh, and we *have* to rave about the on-site BIG Public Bath for hotel guests. Soaking in the relaxing bath every evening after exploring Kyoto was the ultimate treat. 🛁 We feel so lucky and grateful for this incredible experience. Huge thanks to Koji Sato and the wonderful staff—you’ve made this trip one for the books! 🌟

I had a great time staying at The Royal Park Kyoto Umekoji! My friend and I stayed for four nights. It is located in a nice quiet area of Kyoto and it is directly across the street from Umekoji station (just one station stop away from Kyoto Station). The cleanliness of the room left a little to be desired. There was still a few pieces of hair on the floor from previous guests, but nothing too abhorrent. The staff were very friendly and the rest of the hotel amenities were great. The onsite public bath was very relaxing and you could check the occupancy status of the baths from the TV in your room which was very helpful! I would consider staying here again on future trips to Kyoto.

Awesome and convenient hotel! Easy access to trains. Short distance on train from Kyoto station at a fraction of the cost of the Kyoto station hotels. Quiet park outside hotel. HUGE rooms. Awesome bathrooms. Tons of room compared to other Japan hotels!

Very nice hotel with a Family Mart on the first floor. Not much to do around the hotel but it is located right next to the station so it was easy to move around. The room was also pretty spacious and the staff was nice!

Very clean and new. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Onsen public bath was clean and sufficient. The room was large and clean. Close to JR Umekoji station. Has a family mart connected to the lobby. Great hotel for the price.

Great breakfast options but almost all are the same daily. Room is cleaned everyday and toiletries are refilled too. Public bath available that makes our stay special as it is free. Toilet and bath are separated. Very near to train station.

This Hotel was beautiful. It had comfy beds, great amenities, loved the public bath, helpful reception, next to the train station which was only one stop from the city or you could easily walk into the city. Breakfast and lunch options were great. Definitely stay here again.
