Did you know there are 2 volcanoes in the town of La Fortuna??? Most tourist only hear of the Arenal Volcano, but there is a second one right next to it.

My home is a 2 bedroom with great views of the Costa Rica Rain-forest, right at the edge of the jungle, and the majestic Arenal Volcano and the second less known Cerro Chato Volcano.

I'm excited to make my home yours while you are vacationing in the area. You are renting the whole cabin while you're here... I nor anyone else will be staying at the property during your stay. However, I can be reached if you need anything, but for the most part you're on your own.

The cabin is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano. It's only 9 minutes (2 minutes on a bumpy dirt road) from the center of town in La Fortuna, but private and secluded, yet 5 minutes (1.9km) from one of the larges stocked grocery stores in the area, and 3 minutes from the La Fortuna Waterfall.

You want birds, we GOT them - hummingbirds, toucans, Montezuma Oropendolas, Honey Creepers and many, MANY, many more.

You want a Volcano view, you could pretty much reach out and touch it.

The Howler monkeys can frequently be heard passing just 100 yards away. If you're lucky you'll get to see them climb from tree to tree as they lounge around eating and enjoying the day.

I am constantly landscaping so there are a LOT of plants, trees and flowers for you to enjoy. You'll LOVE eating out on the porch as the beauty that IS Costa Rica moves around you. I feed the hummingbirds and they'll be enjoying their breakfast as you enjoy yours- fun to watch - SO TERRITORIAL. And at night when the sky is dark and there's nothing to see but black. You can see the hundreds of fireflies roaming around in the distance.

It was exactly what I was expecting. I wanted a private, secluded cabin with amazing view of the Arenal Volcano. Wonderful porch to drink our coffee. Hummingbird feeders that brought in the birds. Perfect for our family of 4. Secluded yet close to grocery store, restaurants, and excursions. WiFi and streaming services worked great. I was nervous about no A/C. But we didn’t need it! Fans if needed but we just opened the sliding doors for a nice breeze. Also worried if my kids would miss not having a pool but we did so many activities, it wouldn’t have been used much anyways. There are several free hot springs nearby and many resorts offer a day pass to use their pools and waterslides. The host was very accommodating. Coffee pot quit working but he was very responsive and replaced same day with a brand new one. Also easy to talk to since host speaks fluent English. Absolutely recommend staying here for a cabin vibe and volcano view!

Pros-Amazing view of the volcano, beautiful porch-Middle of paradise, yet so close to everything (sodas, hot springs, waterfalls, splinting, etc)-D’Angelo met us at the nearby grocery story and led us down the side streets to the home, where he gave us a full tour (what service)! -Gardens are well maintained -Two washrooms, each with its own bidet!-Filtered water if we prefer rather than the tap-Hot shower with soap and shampoo, so nice-Plenty of linens, fully stocked kitchen-Toucans, howler monkeys, turkeys and so many birds right in the backyard! Cons(These are very minor and D’Angelo kindly mentioned some of these to us beforehand, which I greatly appreciated; hence 5 stars)-One of the slider’s locks had recently broken; however D’Angelo had a temp floor bolt lock installed, which worked-Tiny nest of small non-stinging bees at the outdoor table. More just annoying while eating and in hindsight we should have just moved the table (our fault as we are in the rainforest)!-Knife set could be replaced, but were usable -Nothing else, this place is awesome. It’s a really cool cabin in paradise. Wish we booked for longer!

This location was just outside the busy area, and enabled our family to enjoy the view of the Arenal volcano in a great cabin. We found it enchanting to listen to the heavy rains on the roof and birds all around. The cabin stayed pretty cool despite over 35 degree heat. Host was fantastic and went over everything we needed to know.

Views are amazing!! Sitting out on porch in morning watching birds and listening to howler monkeys while having coffee was one of best parts of our trip. Cabin was as advertised, very secluded and quiet. Few spots in area where WiFi was dependable. Kitchen and dishes were not clean. Sink had food in and was hair on sponge. Seemed like no TLC was addressed between guests. It’s the jungle and enjoyed the geckos in the cabin. They were doing their job keeping minimal bugs at bay. Enjoyed our stay very much except for cleanliness of Kitchen.

We loved the location . Awesome home in the jungle. We saw a Tuscan and could hear a jaguar in the morning and at night. Sooooo cool. Our host D Angelo was so accommodating. We highly recommend this one !

Dangelo is a fabulous host, he helped us get familiar with the house and helped us find the kinds of places we would like to visit during our stay. My wife and I are avid bird watchers and with the house being in a remote location we saw a wealth of tropical birds, many for the first time. This is not a house for fancy people, it is a rustic house that requires four wheel drive to reach; however the kitchen is adequate for simple meals, the water is hot even though the pressure is moderate and there is no heat or air like most of Costa Rica. My only complaint would be that the bed was a little soft for someone my age but if you're an outdoors kind of person that loves adventure you'll love this place.

Cute cabin with a great view of the volcano when the clouds allow. The owner met us at a supermarket to follow to the house since it’s a little hard to find. The hummingbird feeders on the back porch attracted so many different types for great pictures. Excellent place to stay!

An amazing, secluded location with beautiful views of the Arenal volcano and close to downtown La Fortuna. Host was very responsive and even took the time to show us how to get to the cabin and gave us a tour of the cabin so we knew how everything worked. Highly recommend staying here for anyone traveling to this area!

It was an amazing house with fantastic views! We were there for three days and saw so many different varieties of plants and animals. The host was very kind and was sure to have everything you may need. His tour was detailed and very helpful. Secluded from the high traffic of the tourist strip, the home felt safe, quiet, and comfortable. Highly recommend this amazing home for your next stay!

Beautiful home and surroundings. I recommend trying to arrive while it is light. We arrived in the dark on a rainy night. We lost service and it was difficult to meet property manager. Once we figured it out, all was good! The home is comfortable, well stocked and provides an amazing view of the Arenal Volcano

What a gem of a property. The ambiance of this place was top notch and a perfect getaway, just a few minutes outside of town. The porch was my sanctuary, overlooking Volcán Arenal with tons of plants and bird watching. The host, D’Angelo was super accommodating and welcomed me the day of check in, showing me around the place, and the best way to get there. Has everything you need in the kitchen, puzzles, games, books and yoga mats. I look forward to visiting again!

Though the place is well located, the view of Arenal Volcano is awesome when the weather works, and the host, D’Angelo was very responsive and helpful, we did find that the kitchen items (such as pots and utensils) had not been cleaned for some time and the beds have a foam topper that made the bed way too soft (we just removed it for our stay and put it back on before we left). However, D’Angelo was very apologetic and worked with us on everything, so I would still recommend the place, especially in dry season to maximize your chances of enjoying the view.

Our Favorite Rental in Costa Rica!

The house was clean, charming, and in a beautiful location. The bed was sooooo comfortable and the views outside calmed our souls. Our favorite part was sitting on the outside partial wraparound porch where we could see Arenal and TONS of birds. We saw toucans, parakeets, tanagers, trogons, and many more. D'Angelo was super helpful with giving us travel tips and was very responsive. I highly recommend this rental and would come back here again! Thank you for the memorable stay.

Wonderful Stay

The house is small but has everything we needed. We spent most of our time on the lovely deck watching the birds and clouds around the volcano and listening to the sounds of the jungle. D’Angelo was sweet and super responsive. We saw a sloth in our backyard! We only left this morning and we miss it already! Close to town but far enough away to feel in the country!

Pura vida

The property was beautiful! D'Angelo has cultivated a beautiful garden. It was great to sit and watch the comings and goings of volcano Arenal from our porch as the clouds came and went. We all really enjoyed having a secluded cabin to come relax in after a day of sight seeing. We were thankful to D'Angelo for leading us to the VRBO the first day and showing us all the features and how to manage temperature and bugs within the cabln. The one issue we had was managing the flow and temperature of the shower-we never did figure that out. Otherwise the cabin although some might call rustic was very relaxing and comfortable, we would stay there again.

Nice Rustic Cabin on a Beautiful Property

We enjoyed our stay here in La Fortuna. The cabin was cozy, well-appointed, and clean. The grounds had many exotic and beautiful trees, flowers, and colorful birds. The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with.

Jungle cabin

Nice house in a small neighborhood right in the middle of the jungle with easy access to la fortuna. Saw many birds, including toucans. We thought the neighbors had a sick donkey the first several days only to find out it was howler monkeys in the trees behind the property.

4-night stay at La Fortuna

The property owner was very easy to communicate with, through VRBO and later using Whatsapp. He gave clear directions on how to get to the house and gave us a tour of the property. The house is well stocked with towels, linens, and kitchen items. The beds and furniture are comfortable. The views off the patio are amazing, Arenal Volcano fills your view on a clear day. There are dozens of species of birds in the gardens, the howler monkeys were heard early each morning, and a sloth was spotted in a tree on the neighboring property. The neighborhood is quiet, be advised that the neighbors are somewhat close, but are screened by the lush garden. Would stay here again.
