Book Wyndham Hotels La Romana accommodation from NZ$52

Our expectations were high for this storied resort. But ultimately, we were disappointed. The scene on arrival was chaotic. With our Expedia premium status we were told earlier arrival was possible. But our rooms were not available until considerably past the 4 PM check in time. The overly crowded beach made it impossible to find three beach chairs. The food was OK, but not equal to the cost. Our best time was up at Alto de Chevon, a quiet and lovely village recreation. Bottom line… We were so excited and thinking we would prolong our stay there our final day but instead found ourselves anxious to leave. Too bad. Considering it’s famous past we felt it had lost it magic.

Our stay at Casa Colibri exceeded our expectations. The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The property is lovely and the Casa de Campo community in general outstanding. The staff was terrific and tuned in to all of our needs, both adults and children. Our butler, Junior, could not have been more attentive, even organizing daily baseball games with the boys. Junior was so kind and caring...he will be missed. Our chef, Wilson made the most delicious and creative meals and was able to accommodate the tastes of both adults and young children, and Esperanza, our house cleaner, was always on top of all the laundry, almost before we knew it needed to be washed. The pool was great and a huge hit for everyone.Overall, our stay was a wonderful introduction to the Dominican Republic, leaving us wanting to return!

The best spot to stay when you want to be near of everything!!

House and location are great — staff is excellent

Beach at just few steps and lots of culinary places. The property doesn’t have any amenities but it is in excellent conditions. We would love to stay longer however there was no availability. Excellent choice for the price
