Experience western farmstead living from a time before Zion became a national park. This 1924 farmhouse is a relaxed, character-filled basecamp just 25 minutes from the park. Enjoy open living, a gas fireplace, swim spa (hot tub or plunge pool), fire pit, and outdoor dining under pecan and fig trees. Central to hiking, biking, hot springs, and swimming holes, as well as Bryce, Grand Canyon and St George. Fully fenced and pet friendly. Outdoor camper with a queen bed optional.
===========
This is an old Western living experience — with just enough modern touches to make it comfortable and fun.
The 1924 farmhouse came of age in the era of the WPA, Edward Abbey, and John Steinbeck. It isn’t a new tract home, a sterile hotel, or a curated glamping tent. You’ll need to feel your way around and discover it. It rewards those who do.
Inside, you’ll find a roaring gas stove, original pine floors, a canopy bed in the primary bedroom, and cozy attic rooms upstairs. The house is thoughtfully maintained, without ever feeling staged or sanitized.
The farmhouse is at its best with the windows open, evening breezes moving through the rooms. For warmer or colder nights, each bedroom is equipped with its own mini-split heating and air conditioning.
Outside, enjoy wide open night skies and a fire pit beside our agave garden. Make s’mores, fire up the grill, and share dinner under mature pecan and fig trees — help yourself to whatever’s in season. After a long day of hiking, biking, or climbing, sink into the swim spa, which works as both a huge hot tub and a refreshing plunge pool.
Perfect for hikers, mountain bikers, climbers, families, and anyone who finds romance in places with history and heart.

REAL TALK: WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a 100-year-old farmhouse. We maintain it lovingly, but it's NOT a brand-new luxury home.
WHAT THAT MEANS:
• Uneven floors, narrow spaces, steep stairs
• One bathroom is in the basement (not ideal for elderly/mobility-impaired guests)
• The swim spa is a big hot tub/plunge pool—NOT an in-ground swimming pool
• The camper is an outdoor unit—no bathroom, basic sleeping quarters
• You might see bugs (earwigs, occasional cockroaches—it's the desert, we have bimonthly pest service)
• You'll need to light the gas fireplace yourself (easy, we show you how)
• Things might creak, doors might stick—it's part of the charm
WHO THIS IS FOR:
+ Adventurers who love authentic character
+ Families comfortable with "real" homes
+ Hikers/bikers who want basecamp, not a resort
+ Dog owners who need a fenced yard
+ People who appreciate history and personality
+ People who think a camper will be fun
WHO THIS ISN'T FOR:
- Anyone expecting modern luxury perfection
- Guests who need everything spotless and new
- People uncomfortable with old buildings
- Anyone who expects an in-ground pool
- Party members who expect our 5th bedroom to be inside the house, and don't really want the camper.
