Very Disappointing
While the location was great and there was an adequate amount of space, this was one of the most negative rental experiences we’ve had, and we travel internationally quite a bit. First, we could not get in touch with the owner and had no idea how to check in. They would not reply to our VRBO messages after multiple weeks and we finally realized that it was a private rental company who used individual key holders who we needed to contact directly, but our key holder only spoke Portuguese (she was very nice, but we were extremely confused by the whole process). They had sent an external email with this information, but did not tell us that, and the email subject was easily confused with spam, so we never received it. This was very challenging with limited service and wifi access. When we arrived, we noticed odd smells of mildew and even toilet smells, and there were many areas that were not sanitary. For example, hairs and crumbs in the silverware tray, dirty dishes in the cabinets, etc. Then, at the end of the first day, the hot water went out. We could not get in touch with anyone to fix it. We messaged the company via VRBO multiple times expressing our frustration and need for a solution. Again, the individual key holder was kind, but was unable to fix the problem until our very last day. Finally, we we booked this rental, they advertised AC, and there was no AC. We would not recommend booking this property.
