The hotel is nothing special, but, the restaurant next to which provides breakfast was great. Hotel is right by Lake Tekapo as are most other hotels and all the dining. One mile from Tekapo Springs. No views from our room but just a few minutes walk to everything in this tiny town.

The hotel provided clean towels and bedding, but the property is overdue for maintenance, bathroom handles are rusted and hangers are broken. The location is great, close to the iconic landmark, Good Shepherd Church and walk to Lake Tekapo

This hotel is brilliantly situated on beautiful Lake Tekapo. I was glad I paid for a lake view - it was so worth it. The room was simple and a bit shabby but had everything I needed for one night, and I was able to park very close. I would definitely stay again.

We were surprised when we got to our room how dark and unappealing it was. Not at all like the picture on Expedia. We immediately left and kept driving to Christchurch realizing we would get no refund. Don’t be tricked by the pictures.

Great location, clean, but property is run down. "Balcony", really more of a hallway door, opens with everyone else's balcony so no privacy. There is no air conditioning so you have to open the balcony door if you want fresh air. Neighbors were loud , (not the property 's fault) and smoked, so you heard and smelt everything.

Property was terrible, very basic motel and very old and very expensive for what you get. TV would working on app's and when asked the reception person to have a look he couldn't get it to work either.

The Godley Hotel is what it is - bed and a shower for a reasonable price compared to other options in the area. The room was cramped and poorly lit, dated and drab decor. Walls are thin and without drawing the blinds (so no light) everyone has a nice look in. Bathroom extremely utilitarian with low water pressure in the shower, but no issues with hot water. If you’re expecting a 3-star experience this is not it. But the staff were friendly, the bed comfortable enough, fair price and good location.
