great remodel!! heard the restaurant is wonderful too but did not eat there. have stayed at the Cow Palace when I was a kiddo. Room was a balcony room and was very nice... a few things could be changed/added for better utilization. No makeup mirror needed by the sink, in the bathroom the tile needs to be fixed in the shower, the shower door needs a water block on the title base and a bench in the bathroom would fill the space nicely. maybe find a double vanity to replace what is there. Just some ideas from a guest.
The room smelled horrible, while trying to get breakfast, our room was cleaned by staff, removing sheets, bedding, and towels before we checked out. Unable to shower after eating and coming back to find everything was gone three hours prior to checkout. I would not stay here again nor ever suggest anyone does it is not worth the headaches of dealing with this place.
I stayed in a suite and it was wonderful. It was fully remodeled and very clean.
The only thing the suite lacked was a closet or chest of drawers to store clothing in. Also the suites are on the second floor and there wasn’t an elevator. While it wasn’t a problem for me, it might be a challenge for someone who struggles with stairs.
They left off a few things a handle on the inside of the bathroom door. Hooks for towels in the bathroom and a place for shampoo and soap in the shower
I remember driving by this hotel/motel many times as a kid. They owners have put a lot of work into it to up date it. The bar and restaurant are really nice. The breakfast is good. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.
It is a nice place to stay if you are traveling through Lamar.
After two weeks of traveling and staying in chain hotel, this was such a great place. It has been recently remodeled and was well done! The rooms are huge, very clean and the beds and pillows are comfortable. The small kitchen area in our room (King suite) had a nice small refrigerator that actually has a separate freezer section. We could refreeze our cooler ice packs. The on site restaurant and bar serve great food and cocktails. We had a wonderful dinner. Note that there is no elevator. We had a ton of luggage and had to haul it up a flight of steep stairs. This wasn’t an issue for us but if stairs are a problem be sure to request the first floor. Additionally, there is no closet at all. Again not a problem for us as ours was just a one night stay, but if you need to unpack for a few days this could be a problem. Great place overall.

Unaware that this hotel didn’t have an elevator & the a/c was inadequate & difficult to deal with as the unit is on the ceiling. The picture of the room that we booked was not what we were given. The room was nice but expected a patio outside for seating.
This is a very unique property in a good way. On a Sunday the restaurant/bar was closed, but looked like a fun place. Our room was wonderful, however we were not aware that it required a large flight of stairs to reach the suite. My disappointment was that there was no one at the front desk to check us in. All attempts to contact help was met with an unanswered phone with a full voicemail. Breakfast was very good and presented well.
