Boom Days Getaway.

My husband and I stayed at the Delaware Hotel during Leadville Boom Days. The location is great and the hotel is very nice. The rooms are smaller but they are well kept and comfortable. Would certainly stay here again.

First of all the name of the guy who helped us the most pretty sure was Ian. Young super great guy! I will hold on to him because he gets customer service and the industry. Food was great! room was great! We were just passing by and my hubby likes older hotels. This was a surprise and well worth the stay! Paul just came off a week of motorcycle ride with the guys and I met him, Let's just say I was not staying where they stayed...,This is a beautiful hotel. ***No elevator for those who can NOT do steps ....

Expedia advertises free breakfast and that is not offered! Staff doesn’t understand why Expedia continues to show this!! The bathroom door knob was not working properly and I had a hard time getting out of there!! I also killed a larger ugly spider on the bathroom wall! The bed was also pretty soft and I didn’t sleep well! The staff is awesome but the room wasn’t worth over $200!

Comfortable hotel with old charm

Beautiful old hotel. Very comfortable. A little warm, with no AC. Otherwise, clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

Facts you need to know. There is no elevator. Stairs from the first to second floor are wide, stairs from the second to third floor are very narrow. There is no air conditioning but there is a small fan in the room. The king room we had does not match the photos, the room was extremely small and there was not adequate room for our suitcases. For the price they charge it was a bit of a let down.

The hotel has good bones and attention to amenities like quality of bedsheets, bath products is a great start. Staff is friendly and helpful. But… For the per night rate we paid, having no elevator and no F & B all day services are really hard to accept as guests. While we’re wiling to pay extra for staying in a historic hotel, it’s equally important to be able to relax at the end of a long drive. I know the situation is temporary but perhaps a ‘while under renovation’ discounted rate would have made it easier to accept. Another element to be taken into account is the high elevation making it harder for guests to go up & down the steep stairs, with or without luggage (at least for us older folks!)
