Moose Head Lodge is an ultra-comfortable mountain log cabin retreat resting on the bank of the Wenatchee River in the Leavenworth community of Ponderosa Estates.

This hand-hewn log home earns a 10 out of 10 for quality craftsmanship, enduring design, and prime riverfront location. This property has one of the best low bank riverfront settings in the entire Plain Valley. The private park-like oasis includes a stone staircase down to the sandy beach, a 6-person hot tub perched just above the water's edge.

Without a doubt, many wonderful memories can be made at this one-of-a-kind riverfront retreat. This home sleeps 6, with its main floor bedroom with queen log bed and two upstairs bedrooms one with queen and the other with a set of bunk beds and twin bed.

The bathroom on the main floor has a tub/shower combination and includes a washer and dryer for guest use. The second bathroom is located in an out building with private shower. The main living space invites you to gather round the gorgeous river rock propane fireplace that is adorned by its namesake “The Moosehead” and includes a smart TV for streaming on the local

Please be prepared along with your guests who are driving separate for this driveway during winter months as there is a steep/slope grade and when ice/snow are on the ground a 4WD/AWD vehicle with traction tires are necessary AND carrying chains is recommended. No exceptions

While we do our best to keep this driveway plowed and sanded, winter conditions can change rapidly and make both access to and from this driveway challenging and we cannot guarantee its condition upon your arrival at any time. We are subject to the subcontractor and the Chelan County plows who service this driveway and our county roads so please pack your patience along with following the recommendations below if you choose to book.

Beautiful riverfront getaway!

Beautiful setting on the Wenatchee River. Moose Lodge has rustic appeal inside and out. Nice large hot tub and cool outdoor seating area- ideal for star gazing. Pet friendly which is great!

Beautiful location but had some issues

1- When we arrived both of our cars slid down the driveway. Our two cars almost hit each other. One car is AWD and the other is 4WD. I understand nothing helps on ice. I would think that the driveway would be made as accessible as possible knowing guests are arriving. 2- The number of cobwebs everywhere was a bit concerning. Since this is a VRBO and a large cleaning fee is charged. I would assume that it would be cleaner. 3- Something is wrong with the TV. We thought it was the remote. I tried to find batteries and found a couple loose ones in a drawer. But that didn't help anything. We ended up just unplugging the tv and then it would work. 4- When anyone is moving upstairs it makes it very hard for anyone in the downstairs room to get any sleep. The flooring makes so much noise. 5- The mattresses didn't seem to be very good quality. Or maybe just old. Not sure. The view is beautiful and everything else was good.

Beautiful, peaceful, home and area.

The home is very cozy and perfectly positioned on the River. The views are beautiful and the serenity of the neighborhood makes a relaxing experience. We enjoyed our time relaxing at the cabin and taking trips into Leavenworth.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

My family of four (two adults, two kids - ages 11 & 8) had a wonderful weekend! The cabin is the perfect size, layout, with plenty of parking (although we had one car), and all of the extras you could need. The view of the river is just beautiful from the main living space and we enjoyed reading quietly as a family in front of the fireplace. A note for families with children: The river was moving swiftly, so we were diligent about our kids staying safe when near the water’s edge … life jackets are a must! We’ll definitely visit again!

Beautiful Cabin on the water- So Cozy

I give this place very high marks except that the listing needs to be updated. We were expecting 4 bedrooms and 1.75 bath as the listing states on VRBO. We arrived and we’re not given access to the bunk house which is one queen bed and the .75 bath. We ended up getting agreement but I just hate to spend this kind of money and to arrive having to argue about what was offered in the VRBO AD and listing. Beyond this, the place is really fantastic and beautiful. I wish I could stay a week to unwind and not have had to worry about accommodating my friends as I promised them that joined us. Thank You

Amazing home and location!

The pictures do not do this place justice! We absolutely loved our weekend staying here. The house is right on the river and we loved having the firepit and hot tub to enjoy during the fall months. We had plenty of space in the house and it was very clean when we arrived. The location is also very close to drive into Plain or Leavenworth if you needed anything. Will hopefully be back again soon!
