Having stayed a few times previously we felt that some elements of our visit were good but not of the high standard we had experienced before. We felt that the decor was looking tired, especially the carpets and there was one corridor on the first floor which was without light, it came on automatically but only after we had passed through the area. We had been looking forward to breakfasting in the hotel as previously this had been a really lovely experience. The views are still lovely from the restaurant but the quality of produce was not as good as we recalled. It was still nice, but not Front of hotel staff are excellent ambassadors for the hotel, very friendly, helpful and polite.

Had to wait three hours from check in at noon for an ‘expedited’ room to be made available ! Then got a room, albeit a nice room, but certainly not overlooking the 17th fairway as booked ! I then had a self admitted non golfer telling me it WAS overlooking the 17th fairway……… staff at hotels like this need to remember they actually are working and don’t own the place ! Condescending attitudes are horrid in the service industry .Wonr be back ! Fairmont for the next trip

Some areas of the hotel have been upgraded since our last visit including the Spa and it’s a massive improvement. Staff are friendly and efficient. We weren’t massively keen on the food in the Jigger Inn. However it was busy so maybe we’re in the minority there. Overall a very good stay, we’ll definitely be back.
