The house was very clean, cozy and comfy! The tv room was very large with a nice big tv for nighttime movies. We enjoyed the screened porch on the back and the fire pit patio area. Very short walk to the beach. John was very easy to communicate with and replied quickly to my questions.

The house gave each of us privacy at night and an outdoor gas grill for a special dinner. The master bedroom was perfect for my 91 year old mother! Both family rooms have comfortable couches. Relaxing after fun days was easy! The area is beautiful with wonderful walks. We spent an afternoon in Rehoboth and the rest of the time in Lewes and Henlopen State Park. We had a great time. The house was larger than the photos suggested, it was very well stocked, and worked well for us. The owner checked in with us, which was nice, and we enjoyed hearing that the house had been in the family for a long time. Lovely stay

The host, John, is a great communicator. The house is very well stocked and set up. The beach was so close and we loved the bay and Cape Henlopen State Park. The screened in porch was pretty and relaxing and the outdoor shower was great. This was our first trip to Lewes and we didn’t get to spend time in the town but it looked very charming. We bought wonderful fresh bread and cold cuts and Lloyd’s market. A lovely visit.

We had such a fantastic stay at this beach house! The location is absolutely perfect — just one block from the beach, which made it super easy to walk back and forth throughout the day. It was so nice not having to worry about parking or lugging beach gear too far.The house itself was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Family Property by the Beach

The property is very close to the beach, and the rental provides excellent value. The home provided enough space for me, my wife, both my in-laws, and my 3 children (ranging in age from 2.5 to 9.5 years old).The rental rate was affordable and very fair. The area is residential with commercial options a short bike ride away. The community is bike friendly and contains a number of trails that interconnect residential, commercial, and tourist areas. The beach is only a football field away from the house and can be accessed without crossing any busy roads. The beach itself is pleasant with soft sand and family-friendly water conditions. The shore is very shallow allowing my 2.5-year old to safely play in it.The interior of the home is dated with minimal modern stylings. It is an old family home with major sentimental value to its owner and various personal affects. The house has everything needed for a stay and more. Bikes and kayaks are included, but sized for a shorter family.My children shared a bedroom that was converted from an attic and stifling hot. Fortunately, the room had a dedicated air conditioner, but the space was still tight and uncomfortable. The rest of the house, including the other two bedrooms was comfortable. Furnishings are clean and neat, but old. Appliances are newer and provide for good amenities. The WiFi signal was strong throughout with fast internet access. The owner was very kind. He was easy to contact throughout the visit and responsive.

Nice place with a few caveats

We had a lovely stay. The house was well stocked and clean. The porch was lovely. The host was very available. Stepdowns between rooms and challenging access to attic bedroom were concerns, particularly for an older member of our party.

Felling like home.

The rental place is great. One does not feel like rental but like home. Very good price for a week. There is a lot of everything. Everything very comfortable. Clean. Great outdoors. Great games for kids, great pieces for adults to play. But I do not want to praise too much, because I would like to go there again and do not want to pay too much. Beach just 10 steps away, and not too crowded.

We had a great time! The house is just steps away from the beach. Spent quite a bit of time on the screen porch. We actually had a warm beach day in April which was a nice surprise. Communication with the owner was great, very responsive. Would definitely consider staying again.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Spent an extended stay here with my dog and partner/friends in and out. It is ideal for waking up, rolling out of bed, and walking the maybe three hundred feet to the beach. It's also a fifteen/twenty minute walk to downtown Lewes, which has incredible food (some of the best I've ever had in a beach town). Any groceries you'll have to travel a bit farther so stock up. The house is old fashioned, which is part of its charm, but has plenty of space. The screen-enclosed lanai was a huge part of our enjoyment--would sit out back there with the dog for hours. John, the owner, was incredibly helpful and responsive. We look forward to coming back!

Lewes lounging

Although the weather was quite dicey during our visit, we felt warm and snug in John’s home. The large living room was a great place to snuggle with our pup, read, and watch movies. The location of the house made it so as the weather cleared, we could quickly and easily access the beautiful beach. It was also a quick drive to Cape Henlopen - a place we love.If you are looking for a gentle escape from the world, John’s space is a great choice.

Cute vintage beach house. Hard to beat proximity to the beach. Exceptionally responsive owner. Love the more quiet Lewes compared to Rehoboth. My family and I very much enjoyed our stay.
