A small hotel in good location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Easy to find local eateries, and especially near the airport. It is quiet and easy parking. The down side is size of the room….so small. You have to scoot around the beds and there are two chairs to sit to watch TV. No table. The AC unit is small you need it run all the time to keep it cool, hence humming sound and dry air. The beds are small and sink deep in the middle. Our backs are so stiff in the morning. Room clean provided on the third day only. If you just need a room to sleep and go out all day then it can work. The staff told us if you book direct (not through Expedia) you will get bigger/better room. After five nights we can’t wait to leave.

The property is in a quiet location close to the airport. It is very clean but a bit outdated. Price was reasonable for being close to the airport. Rina the manager was very nice.

I have no problem with the management of this hotel, but I want people to understand what the property is so they’re not taken by surprise as I was. It’s a wood structure built in the 1960’s, according to a sign on the property. It’s two stories with no elevator. I’m in my 70’s and I had to carry a 50 pound suitcase up and down the stairs since I was assigned a second floor room and could not change it (receptionist said they were fully booked). The furnishings and decor in the room looked like a match to the quoted 1960’s age of the building. Everything was clean and neat, no problem there. But coming from a Hilton stay in Honolulu, I wasn’t prepared for what I got. My fault for not doing better research. I booked it as part of a package with the airfare. I only stayed one night, didn’t want to pay resort prices. Not sure Lihue has any middle ground between the resorts and this. If you don’t mind basic accommodation, you may be happy here. I’m just used to a step or two up from it.
