We checked in fairly late. Neighborhood surrounding seemed sketchy. Hotel itself was cute. We had the separate house with 3 rooms. A few bugs and a stain on a comforter and we decided we wouldn’t be able to rest. Staff tried to offer a alternate room and were polite but we decided to go elsewhere. The place has potential but just wouldn’t work for us.

We absolutely loved this place and will stay here again. I only gave it 3 stars due to all the issues leading up to our reservation day. Had a lot of issues trying to get in contact with anyone about my reservation. Tried calling and emailing for 2 weeks with no response, their website had false information on it for contact info. We also had issues checking in with no one on site to help and the customer service person on the phone kept saying they did not know what systems were in place due to never being there physically. Once you get the hang of what is actually going on, it's not hard to get in and out. Lastly expedia has an option to pay at property and this is also false they take payment when you book and only charge taxes a day before check in.

Just had a lovely stay at The Herbie. It's easy to get to and close to downtown but the area is actually pretty quiet. There is a courtyard with loungechairs, a grill and pickleball court and the room was just amazing! The decor and the details are stellar, the king-sized bed was comfortable, there's a fridge with freezer, coffeemaker and bathroom toiletries. I have finally found "my" place to stay in Lincoln and we will most definitely be back!!

Very nicely redone motel. I was skeptical when I saw the location as I’ve always known that area to not be great. I never felt unsafe. There is locked access to the courtyard and each room. While it’s not really a walkable area, the proximity to downtown and Memorial Stadium is great. We’ll stay again.

Was not able to check-in. Completely unmanned and the means to get into the properly is provided my email. You better have a phone with access to your email and pray they send you the entry codes. Ours was never provided and the phone goes straight to voice mail and is never answered or responded back to. Booked through Travelocity and they had no luck getting in contact with anyone either. If the entry codes are provided you will probably be fine, if not you will be left outside with an unrefundable room. Very stressful and not worth it.

Interesting boutique motel renovation. Old two level motel converted to enclosed compound with “interior” room entries. Inner courtyard well equipped for recreation. Kitchen supplies and appliances looked modern and adequate. Roku TV is a good touch if one is familiar with that interface, but no local antenna was connected for off the air local channels. External parking area seems adequate, but the two sign poles could use some improvements to make them more visible and not be collision hazards. The out of the way location might be off putting for some, but the sparsely populated area seemed safe and it is well located in relation to downtown and the university. With the enclosed courtyard usable for recreation this property might be well suited for a group traveling together for a something like an athletic event.

This hotel was so cute! My sisters and I were in town for state basketball, and this was the perfect place for us. The hotel was clean, easily accessible, and a great distance from our venues. Thanks for a great new place to stay in Lincoln!
