Quirky, but mostly good

Well, the reviews that mention steep entry stairs and a small bathroom -- with an even-smaller shower -- were not kidding. Having said that, we were glad we stayed there. It was clean and quiet, just a bit cramped. (Good communication and welcome from the hosts, thanks for that!)We enjoyed experiencing Lisboa's 'old town' atmosphere. I loved the sky views from the apartment windows. BTW, the famed tram is often full to capacity, so don't count on using it to come and go.If you are fussy, this probably isn't right for you. If you like dipping into a different time and place, it was a good experience!

Great little place in super location

This place was perfect for us. It's tiny, but efficient, well laid out and everything you need. The neighborhood is really cute and the place is quiet for sleeping. Lots of great restaurants and shops close by. Sylvia was so sweet and accommodating. Our plane from Philly was delayed, so we didn't arrive at the apartment until midnight and she came across town to meet us. Be warned, it's not on a street you can drive on so you have to walk about 20 meters up a cobblestone road and then up two steep flights of stairs. This was not a problem for us, but could be for people with mobility issues.

Lovely Lisbon Apartment

Silvia was very welcoming and really helped set us up for a great stay in this lovely part of Lisbon. The compact apartment suits the Alfama area and has everything you need to enjoy a lovely stay. Sylvia's recommendation for places to eat out were spot on. We would definitely return.

Excellent location for alfama!

Well placed for alfama, castello, se! Tram 28 stops 10m away. Very functional - but no elevator, steep stairs, maybe the smallest bathroom ever. But it worked well for me and my son. Silvia will provide all the information you need (she alone is half the value!)

Fantastic!

Silvia was so helpful with communication and helpful recommendations for food and touring around the flat! Great location in Alfama. Flat is on the smaller side (especially the shower) but worked perfectly fine for us (2 people)! We had a wonderful stay and would come back again. Thank you, Silvia!

Amazing place

We had a fabulous time staying at the apartment. we have a small 8 month old baby and the apartment was equipped with everything we needed which made our stay very relaxed. Sylvia couldnt be more accomodating and helpful. we had a fantastic break away which was much needed as new parents! we have nothing negative to stay and recommend staying here! unforunately 2 nights in a row another guest in the next apartment had a problem with some noise coming from our apartment. the first night we arrived around 9pm and after being welcomed by sylvia we unpacked our babies cot and other belongings, we also had a pizza delivered, we werent expectionally loud at all. The guest next door banged on our door around 10:30pm and said 'be quiet' we apologised. however the following night around 10.30pm again our baby was cooing a little louder than usual, the guest came out and shouted 'shut that child up' we were completely shocked and let sylvia know what had happened and it was dealt with very proffesionaly. we can assure anyone reading this review we were not overly loud and this is a reflection on the unreasonable guest and her anger issues. we feel we have to explain this as we would not want anyone to be put off staying here. it is a quaint, beautiful apartment, fantastic location and fantastic hosts!

Small, but nice

Place was convenient to old Town of Lisbon. Quite a hike uphill from the train station. (Take a cab!) Apt was clean, check-in was easy. But just be aware... It is very small. I'm 5'10", 193 lbs. And I had trouble getting in and out of the shower.

Cute but small

The property was in old town. It was much smaller than expected and is suitable for two people max. Two rooms had floor to ceiling window/doors that opened onto Juliet balconies. They provided fresh air in the flat.

Alfama Delight

The second bed was not made up because we were listed as two guests. Perhaps we were not clear enough in that regard. It was quickly remedied. The bathroom is exceedingly tiny, especially the shower. That should be mentioned in the listing. The location was great and the host Manual and his employee Silvia were very helpful and warm in their hospitality.

Great location in Alfama!

Great location and easy to get to anywhere in Alfama. Tram 28 is half block away. Copenhagen Coffee Lab is 2 minutes away. Sylvia was a wonderful host and gave us great recommendations for all types of restaurants. Tasca de Bela is a wonderful tasca for dinner and fado. Beware of very steep and narrow steps up to the apartment. Obrigado Sylvia!

Highly Recommend!

Great location, fabulous hosts

Great location for a base to explore Lisbon. Walkable to “downtown” plus plenty of local spots in the winding lanes of Alfama neighborhood. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating (our plane arrived late but we were still met at the door with keys and an overview of the apartment). Any and all questions were answered super fast and they accommodated a late check out for us. Only downside was an incredibly small bathroom/shower.

Great place, great location!

The place was exactly what we were looking for. If you're looking for a central place to sleep and plan to be out and about most of the time - then this place is for you. Just steps away from a local trolley station that can get you where you want to go. Thanks so much and will definitely stay here again!

Nice apartment in Alfama

My daughter and I stayed here and it was perfect for the two of us. Great location, very near the trolley line. The check-in process was easy and Silvia the property manager was extremely helpful and offered many restaurant suggestions. The apartment is located in the historic area so the building is old and the staircase has very short steps to the apartment. Overall, it was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
