We had a wonderful stay at Picoas. Staff were helpful and friendly and our room was very comfortable and spacious. After an overnight flight we were grateful for a comfy bed, and spacious bathroom (gorgeous shower!). Breakfast was also wonderful, and we were surprised each night with treats delivered to our room! While not reasonable walking distance to Alfamo waterfront, it was a short/cheap bolt/uber ride. There were also lots of restaurant options within walking distance. Highly recommend!

Great location. Check in and out time was generous. Bar service could be improved - often difficult to get a drink. Lack of staff. Room service is another area of improvement, the phone didn’t work properly, and when it did I couldn’t get through to room service. Quality of drinks at the bar was amazing.

A birthday treat

We arrived on my birthday, we hadn’t told the hotel they must have noticed my DOB, the staff wished me Happy Birthday and a complimentary plate of cheese and fruit plus a slice of cake and a two little bottles of sparkling wine were delivered to the room. I was delighted. We loved the artistic decor and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful,

My spouse and I came to visit Portugal for a few days and booked a room with a bed for two plus studio space. On our first day, the room felt a bit warm, but we assumed it was just the weather, as we’re from New York and not used to warmer climates. We dealt with the heat that night. The next morning, when I spoke to reception about the temperature, they suggested it was likely because I wasn’t using the thermostat properly. However, the following night, the temperature in the room reached 30°C (over 86°F). We were boiling, so we repeatedly asked them to check, and they finally responded around 3:30 AM. After realizing we weren’t lying, they moved us to a different room with a smaller bed, just for the night. The next day, after barely an hour of sleep, we returned to find we had been moved to a third room within 48 hours. Upon entering, we immediately noticed a large amount of period stains and blood on the toilet seat. When we asked for it to be cleaned, they questioned whether we had made the mess. Time and time again, whenever an issue arose, rather than apologizing, they questioned what we had done wrong. There was not a single apology from any member of the management or housekeeping, nor any offer of compensation. The free wine they gave us was left in a room that was boiling, so we couldn’t even enjoy it. When we were checking out the elevator did not work. We had to carry our luggage’s down the stairs. Till our check out no one apologized!

The staff were amazingly attentive and so helpful. The rooms were lovely and very clean. All round a brilliant stay, will definitely be back. Great location, close to a metro and not too far from the airport either. Would give this a 10/10.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and whilst on the outside the hotel looks a bit small, our room itself was nice and spacious. The hotel from the street doesn’t look great but as soon as you walk in, you feel like you are in luxury. I am extremely impressed with our room as it was super clean - there was no mould or dirt in the bathroom, the walls were fresh and white with no dents or black marks anywhere, no dust was lurking on any surface including on the dark wood. I haven’t been in a hotel for a long time where the room was just perfect. There was plenty of storage space to unpack your things and put everything away. The only two things which needed improving was the leather headboard on the bed, as the leather was peeling away due to previous damage and the towels smelt like they had just come out of a swimming pool which wasn’t nice. In the room we had a mini fridge so we could store our own drinks in etc... and there was a kettle and a coffee machine. Downside to this is, there was no milk supplied and for the coffee machine, there was only two capsules given one which was decaf (who drinks decaf coffee :D). There was no tea and the sachets of coffee for the kettle felt like they had been sitting there for ages. On the plus side though, we got complimentary water on two of the four days we stayed. We had an early flight and got to the hotel before check-in. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready yet, so we were unable to freshen up before heading out for the day. On

We loved our room, breakfast, hotel was not far from Metro. There are few restaurants near by also, grocery store too. Very close to the airport, only 15E for Uber.

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful in every way. The location was very central to sightseeing locations. Lovely bar in the lobby and a great view of the city and river from the 5th floor bar and restaurant. Super clean, comfortable rooms with great beds and first class linens.
