I was not given any VIP amenities or treatment. I earned it but it was overlooked. The property, since I was last there when it opened, has deteriorated and it’s not as I remembered it. The front desk service team lack excitement and enthusiasm and that creates an energy that’s anti-vacation. The experience could be better because we’re in Portugal, for goodness sake. The spirit is mediocre at best. The housekeeping team seemed annoyed to clean our room. The front desk team seems uninterested in ensuring our stay was unforgettable. The trash outside was riddled with birds pecking off it bc the trash was strewn around it. Food spillage around the can—hose it down. I was sad to return almost seven years later and find it sub-par. The dining room staff—the young lady with the pony tail had an air of superiority and seemed annoyed that we would come down and ask for an omelette. I almost hated to go down for breakfast and see her. I won’t be back. The only highlight was checking out and getting help from the young man at the front desk at 5/6 AM. He’s your star player! Best human there and the spa lady! She’s a gem!
