Loved my first stay in the Municipal! Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food, but did enjoy cocktails in the bar, which itself is grand and luxurious. We didn’t realise we had to pay separately for the spa and book ahead - my fault for not checking - but we managed to get a slot on Sunday morning from 8 - 10 and it was so worth it. Spent two lovely hours swimming, relaxing and enjoying the variety of different sensory experiences. Because we had to book, it was not overcrowded and we felt we had plenty of personal space. We came out feeling both invigorated and relaxed. Our hotel room was pristine and extremely comfortable. We loved all the period features of this grand building with its stone floors, wide corridors and high ceilings. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming and professional. The hotel is ideally located to explore the Albert Dock and surroundings. Will definitely come back and can’t wait for a return visit. What a luxurious treat!

Reception staff very good. Bar & breakfast service was poor. £25 per person for breakfast was a waste of money. Bacon & black budding was dried and rock hard, beans was cool. Door man at the entrace has a bad attitude and unhelpful. Lift was shut as they had private function. My husband has knees problem has to walk up and down deep stairs back and forward to our room. Overall disappointed with our stay. Thank you

Good hotel for the cost. The rooms are slightly small but you get what you pay for. Cosy and clean with a comfy bed. The bathroom is nice and has all the amenities you require and are of good quality. The entrance needs work as it doesn’t portray the same high end look in comparison to the inside. Loads of cigarette ends on the floor by the main door and the actual front door was dirty. Tried booking the spa but couldn’t get through on the phone, tried to book from the reception and they couldn’t help there and directed to go to the spa. Just little bits that make you feel less valued. Overall i would recommend to others but wouldn’t rush back.
