Great location less than 10 mins walk to the river with bridges, cafes/restaurants, and shops and similar distance in opposite direction to the train station - great for train travel to Ljubljana and nearby spots like Lake Bled for an easy day trip. Spacious modern room. Nice green feature where you can skip having your room serviced for a free drink from the hotel bar. Good extensive breakfast. Terrace bar was a good spot to relax after a long day out though there’s no view - only one of the across street office building. Overall enjoyed the stay at the City Hotel and it’s convenient location for visiting Ljubljana.

Great location since many day trips pick up from here. You are walking distance from the train station and the city center and river and the castle. The rooms are clean and quiet and breakfast has a lot of choices. I had dinner at the bar one night which was really good.

The property is in a good location. You can pay to park in their garage but you have to book your spot ahead of time. The breakfast is really good with a lot of options.

There's a lot to like about this hotel. Check-in was painless. Our room was large with an excellent bed, couch and the usual extras including a kettle. The buffet breakfast was quite good in terms of selection and taste. Breakfast time was busy but the staff worked constantly to clear and reset tables and keep the food selection well stocked. The hotel is an easy walk to all old city attractions and about a 10-15 minutes walk to the railway & bus station (with luggage). Matching check-in, checkout was equally painless with friendly personnel.

We easily walked to this hotel from the bus station with light luggage. The walk was pleasant. The bright spot of this hotel is the breakfast. The selection was vast and delicious. We had early mornings which meant we didn't get to linger much at the table. The rooms were comfy.

We enjoyed our stay at the City Hotel. The breakfast was substantial and delicious, and the location was perfect- a few minutes walk to the old town restaurants and shops, and a 7 minute walk to the main bus station. The tours we booked also picked us up in front of the hotel which was convenient. Our room was a little hot and stuffy- we couldn't get the thermostat to cooperate- but the bed was comfortable and the shower spacious.

Great location In Ljubljana

We had stopped in Ljubljana after a driving trip around Slovenia to go to the Friday nite Open Kitchen. This hotel was in the perfect location to return our rental car,be close to Open Kitchen and the center of town, and catch our train the next day. It does cater to bus tours so you get that energy, but the breakfast offered is excellent and there is a gym. My one recommendation might be to try and improve the gym size/offerings. Since this hotel hosts large groups, there’s no way it comes close to accommodating more than a couple of people and in summer, I’m not sure it would be comfortable. Other than that, everything was very comfortable and staff was lovely.

Friendly and efficient check in. I especially appreciated being given the coordinates of the hotel car park entry to enter into GPS. Good close-by suggestions provided by the receptionist. Nice to have a gym after being away for so long.
