Very good

Nice location, receptionist was pleasant. Rooms were small and very warm, lack of a fan or air-con didn’t help. Felt a little pricey for what was offered although the sea front location obviously played a part in that. Everything was fine, nothing really to complain about but everything being was fine was all just “ok”, nothing good and nothing bad.
On check in we had to wait awhile (Not a problem) we were then given Coffee & Scones in the dining room (Nice) we then had to wait again at the desk to be given our key. (why not give that the 1st time?) In the room there was no mention of free Wi-Fi and no password so had to go back to reception to find that out. There was also no mention of what time breakfast would be served or where we should go either in the room or on checking in. We booked a superior room but to be honest apart from being a good size it's hard to say what was superior. The furniture is very dated an scuffed and marked everywhere. It was not an unpleasant stay in any way but with a little more thought it could be better. We though the price of £130 was over the top for the room
Great to have secure parking for my motorcycle. Lovely hotel and staff. Complimentary tea and scone was a treat. Single room was big enough with a great sea view (338) however the bed was really uncomfortable - soft mattress with a plastic liner (I'm guessing) so I was slipping and sliding all through the night so kept waking up. Not something you can check before you sleep, but I'd stay here again as it's a great location.
The hotel had a body odour smell. I had booked for breakfast but didn’t feel comfortable going to breakfast. The en-suite was dusty, the back of the toilet was very much in view whilst taking a bath, yellow stains on the floor and back of the toilet.
Sorry I didn’t take photos.
charming atmosphere, traditional style, friendly staff. Good rooms, excellent breakfast service. Beautifully situated directly at the seaside

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We booked this property on-line at the last minute, on the fly, because it was literally the last room in the area and we had never visited the town before, so we did not initially question the very high price.
The staff were very nice and very professional.
The facility itself is a rabbit warren, a jumbled collection of small rooms with extremely narrow hallways with numerous turns; maneuvering luggage beyond a small backpack is a challenge. I question whether the place would actually stand up to an egress safety review.
The beds squeaked.
The shower stall is extremely small; if you drop the soap and try to retrieve it, you might end up needing rescue services to get out. The bathroom tile needed to have the tile joints cleaned an resealed.
There was a small window in the room, hinged at the bottom, presumably to keep the occupant from throwing himself out, in despair at having committed funds to a night staying here.
In order to reach the lift, it was necessary to drag the luggage through the crowded bar and dining area.
It appears that much of the clientele during our visit were there with budget coach tours.
I would not recommend the hotel to the younger set, unless they are specifically trying to achieve solitude.
