King Cross

The surroundings were very quirky. We had booked a superior room and were told on arrival we had been upgraded. Not sure what to! Our biggest disappointment was breakfast. This was definitely geared to Turkish/Indian cliental. There was very little for us to eat!

Location perfect for the stations. Used the hotel purely early start on Eurostar. The bed was not all comfortable, but the shower was good. Hot drinks available.

We booked at the last minute and were given a double room with a double bed pushed again a right wall with two other single beds. I appreciate this was one of the only rooms available. It wasn’t ideal though. The room seemed clean but the bed sheet made me itch a lot.

Avoid!

Avoid hotel.. Rooms smell.. Air condition doesn’t work properly meaning you need to open the window in a very noisy area. Hotel isn’t in great condition, We had two nights here at the start and end of our Paris trip and we regret the booking. Expect more from a hotel that cost us circa £120 per night.

Arrived late in the evening, check in was easy. After a maze of stairs and corridors, arrived at our room which can only be described as a converted store room. The room had a horrific smell of damp, you could feel it in the air, and the air con wouldn’t work. The receptionist insisted that we had booked a room with no windows, which was specified nowhere on my booking confirmation. He did upgrade us to a larger family room with windows which was very generous of him. This room was more spacious with opening windows however the general condition of the room was poor, the pop up beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom had a horrific smell of sewers. Grim. Thank goodness it was just a layover stay before onward travel.

Like many central London buildings, the hotel is quite dated. The reception and stairs need refurbishment. But my room was bright and spacious with a modern bathroom so it was a comfortable stay. The staff were warm and welcoming and I appreciated being able to leave my luggage for a few hours after I checked out before getting my train later that day. The hotel is ideally situation for Kings Cross Station.

The worst stay I ever got in a hotel

We planned a friend reunion after 3 years apart. We checked the online reviews on this location, as it was a convenient place, close to the train station. Unfortunately the actual rooms looked terrible, we only found out that we supposed to pay a deposit when checking in as a warrant you don't smoke in the room, in the condition that you pay in advance for your booking and the mention of this warranty is in very small cases somewhere in the separate pdf with company policy. Like a disclaimer. Bear in mind that if you pay in advance they have in capital letters the condition that you don't receive your money back no matter what. Classic scam. The room was in terrible condition. Damage dirty walls, scratches all over the floors, rotten sealing in the shower.

They're taking advantage of a name and location and offering garbage in return. We booked two rooms. The mattress pads were stained. They didn't offer to help bring up luggage. The showers were not clean and leaking. One of the rooms was literally in the basement and flooded. We contacted them multiple times about the flooding and then by the time we actually got a hold of a manager, they tried telling us that no one ever told him and that they're not going to refund our stay.
