Hotel issues

Hotel was very nice, but there were some big disappointments. The air conditioning in both ourooms didn't work. Had to bring us a portable unit. Restaurants and pool closed so early that we had to chiose whether to have dinner or swim, because there wasn't enough time to do both. Biggest problem was the hop on bus that you recommended ended their blue line service, and we were stranded at museum. Had to take a cab back which was very expensive, and we already paid so much for the hop on bus. Don't recommended "city sightseeing". We saw every other bus except that one. That was an expensive lesson for us. A minor problem was the excessive air fresheners in lobby. It clung to the nose no matter where you sat. Outdoor seating was nice and fragrance free

Unfortunate experience and missed opportunity

We had an ok time, ruined by a few bad experiences. The hotel seems incomplete, meaning there were nice things about it, but some things were dated or cheap. Also, some staff members were great, and some were very rude and terrible costumer service.

Pros - Close to Tower Hill and the underground. Centrally located to many things. Cons - We were given a room that was small, dark and stuffy and now what we paid for. We showed them details of our reservation and asked to be switched. In the new room, the bath shower and sink were clogged. They fixed the shower, but we had a clogged sink our entire stay of one week. When we entered, there was leftover food in the fridge from a previous guest. They were informed about it, and it was not cleaned. When we reminded them again, they said we should throw it out ourselves. The food was left there our entire visit without being cleaned by housekeeping. Our room wasn't serviced even when we were out for the whole day. For our entire week, the room was serviced once on their own. Another time, we got new towels in the evening after we contacted them about it. Some of the front desk staff was unhelpful and didn't seem to care. The elevators were not all functional causing long waits. The hallway had repairs done which cause a lot of smell and debris on the walkway carpet.

Pros Quiet Large rooms Close to transportation Great breakfast selection Great views and large windows Amenities like toiletries and water Cons Some of the hallways smell mildewy The elevators were slow We had an off customer service experience with our luggage hold upon check-in. I was asked to go into the chaotic luggage storage are to pick out my own bags and then take them myself. I could have taken anyone’s bag. Also, why didn’t they offer to take them up to my room for me? After this one incident, we had great service. Overall, I would stay here again due to the proximity to the underground, the large size of the rooms, and breakfast selection.

Joy to disappointment

We had a lovely stay, the location was great, the room was clean and very comfortable. The staff in reception and the bar were friendly. Unfortunately on our check out day we left our bags with the concierge team and on collection discovered that an iPad had been stolen. Ruined the entire weekend

Overall this was a very nice place. The room was very spacious and the facilities were very nice. Very close to the district line underground station. Walking distance to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. And walking distance to lot of restaurants. Very good breakfast and good bar and food. Nice cafe as well. Only thing was last day room cleaning was not done but upon request it was done very quickly. Also we lost 3 neck pillows in storage unfortunately we only realised that while Parton last day. They were helpful in trying to find it but looks like someone would have taken them. But overall well worth the money.
