The back of the property (Bedroom 2 and the office/exercise room) overlook this commercial road and sits above commercial premises. The floor is insulated and the windows are double glazed to ensure that there is minimal sound heard from the street which is a small road with single lane traffic only. By contrast, the other side of the house – the main entrance – is only accessed by a private road.
Our property is an apartment, but we refer to it as a house, because it feels more like a house than an apartment as it is detached and standalone, with the exception of the premises below that is accessed from a separate street. The majority of the house is on the 1st floor, and is accessed by one set of stairs. With the predominantly lateral nature of the space, it is quite accommodating for people with some mobility problems but it is not wheelchair accessible.
