My review is that this hotel is a good value. There is nothing fancy with the rooms. The bathrooms are small and the room size was fine for 2 people who just slept and showered in the room. We liked the Russel Square location as it was close to the Tube(2 different lines). My other complaint is that in the rooms you can hear everything! So people talking in the hallway and any noise that they make so if you’re a light sleeper, you will hear everything.

We arrived much earlier than usual planned. Hours before check in time. After a short time in the lobby the staff were able to get these weary Americans into our room early.

Room very clean. Staff very helpful. Bat closes at 11.30 even for Residents would suggest a Might Porter as used to be. Breakfast selection was very good , entry into dining room for breakfast was chaotic.

I booked a triple town - not because I needed the beds but this was all that was available and presumably the price reflected this capacity. When I arrived I noticed that the room was on the busiest street and was very noisy. I asked if it was possible to change the room that evening and was told that all the rooms were noisy and that it was central London and as such it was noisy. Not great customer service. After a very bad sleep I tried again the following morning to ask to change rooms. I was told that it would be no problem. I was then put in a room on the 7th floor (lift only went to the 6th) which was a single bed, a third of the size and totally overheated even with the radiator turned off. It was quiet but still too hot to sleep. Having had a bad first night I had hoped that the hotel would have wanted to improve my stay but it just felt that there was no real care. It may be that the hotel was at full occupancy but this was not explained to me or that whilst they were giving me a quieter room it was in fact a downgrade. I didn’t bother with breakfast either as the queue to get in to the dining hall was out the door.
