This was a disappointing VRBO rental experience. After I checked out, within 24 hours I received an email from the insurance company that a claim for property damage was filed in my name. I was blinded-sided. I disputed this claim with the host, Back and forth, back and forth. What a disappointing way to conclude what was a pleasant vacation. I will only recall the terrible interactions with the host. What a nuisance. To me, nothing else matters.

Convention Trip

The garage is a smaller than expected and would only fit a Ford Edge at an angle. Other than the house was perfect and the host was responsive to all inquires, making the check in and check out process seamless.

July Phx Escape

Our family of 11 including 4 generations had a wonderful stay. Quiet neighborhood, great location. We loved walking the canals in the evening and jogging them early in the morning. We had 3 vehicles, 2 explorers and an escape and were able to handle parking with no problem which is sometimes difficult when we all travel together. We also brought 2 e-bikes which we used almost everyday, but note we did not ride along the canals with them, that path is not conducive to bikes. It was in walking distance to many restaurants as well as Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s which came in handy. The weather was wonderful as we wanted to escape Phx for a week so it was a welcome change. Please note I gave 4 stars for communication as we did have difficulty communicating which I was told was due to VRBO’s messaging system having issues which was no fault of the host but was inconvenient.

Home was exactly as advertised . We placed the Grandma in the bedroom downstairs and had three en-suite bedrooms ( 2 couples and one room for the 4 children ). Would definitely stay here again because Long Beach is so central and the home is located in a neighborhood that is just a short stroll to the Belmont Shore neighborhood.

The house was nice and suited us well. We had 4 adults and two small children. The open kitchen family room area was very helpful. We were a little disappointed by the condition and lack of cleaning of the upstairs rooftop area and two outdoor patios. We would not use them and may have enjoyed the outside if they were clean. The communication with the host was very good. Easy place to stay with a family.

Watch out for added checkout fees

Charming upgraded home in a cozy Long Beach neighborhood. All three upstairs rooms boast en-suite bathrooms, and it's dog-friendly with a secure yard for pets. The hot tub on the sun deck was pristine and always ready. However, post-checkout, we were charged extra for steam cleaning furniture and rugs, which were already in that state upon arrival. Our non-shedding dogs were blamed, but the only thing we found in the rug early on was dirt and hair. We even rolled the bedroom rug away during our stay due to its condition, yet were still charged for its cleaning.

Family wedding

Our daughter was getting married in San Pedro Marina and we wanted to stay somewhere the whole family could be together. This property worked out so well for us had plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Check in and out process was simple and we had a great time . Wonderful location a short 2 min walk to the canals. We had 12 people in all.

Disappointing Fancy Rental

We were so excited to come into town for a family wedding over the holiday weekend. There was a total of 11 of us (6 kids, 5 adults). When I booked the property online, it looked stunning. It is by far the fanciest and most expensive we've ever rented through VRBO. The main reason this property gets 1 star is because they have cameras inside the home. This was extremely invasive and against VRBOs policy. There is a camera in the corner of the living room that overlooks the entire space (kitchen table, living room, etc...). There was another camera in the interior entry way. The hosts also messaged me several times about house rules such as leaving lights on and/or being quiet for the neighbors. We were rarely there and very respectful of the home and rules. We asked to get into the property an hour early (3pm) to get dressed for the rehearsal dinner. The host agreed and said info would be sent 1 hour prior (2pm), but the code wasn't sent until after 3pm. We had to go to the rehearsal in the clothes we wore on the plane. The home has the potential to be beautiful if they put some time and attention into the guest experience. The AC/Heater is controlled off site which meant that when we would try to cool off the upstairs, it would be overridden. Extra bath towels were needed, extra toilet paper in each bathroom was needed, mattress covers/pads needed on the bunk beds. No pantry items except salt and pepper. Minimal and cheap toiletries and the cameras have to go!

Lovely location & beautiful home

This was perfect for us. We went to coach a gymnastics meet and it was very close and convenient to the convention center. We had a lovely walk along the canals and to the beach the first evening. Although we were super busy coaching and didn't get to enjoy the nearby attractions much, the house was very comfortable to "come home" to and it was sure nice to have a bathroom for each bedroom! Super clean and minor issues were addressed quickly by the host. Would definitely stay again.
