The concierge and front desk were a formidable team who made us feel welcome, and they provided several recommendations for dining and other services that were spot on.
The room was spotless and the hotel had a gorgeous old Hollywood style. The front desk gentleman that greeted us Berke (sorry if I miss pronounced your name) Was very kind and gave us some details about the hotel and was very courteous.
We were just there for a night. But will definitely be coming back. In the morning I checked out and ordered some breakfast which was then brought to me by the pool. It was such a great stay! Thank you!
Rooms were small but the staff was great. Right on the SM walking path along the beautiful Pacific coast

Asked for a rose petals in the room for our engagement and a bouquet of flowers but never received either . The staff mistakenly put happy anniversary when it was our engagement night .
The Jacuzzi was the best cherry on top to our stay there. We did splurge for the oceanfront business suite which was nice a little extra space and an amazing view of the sunset. I mean amazing also lit view of the pier in the distance because we did get the top floor in the corner not the penthouse just the fifth floor, but still amazing thank you. Everything was lovely. The coffee shop in the morning was also wonderful Thank you to the staff.
The front desk “manager” Julian, could benefit from a crash course in hospitality. Their demeanor felt far more suited to a budget chain off the 405 than a property trying to brand itself as a boutique experience - The smug presentation was completely out of sync with the boutique atmosphere this hotel seems desperate to create while attempting to resurrect itself. I’m using the word “boutique,” only because there isn’t a better descriptor for “busted but trying” to recoup investor capital.
It’s one thing when the nightly rate far exceeds the service delivered not uncommon; it’s another when an array of misc. charges appears to be the strategy for dragging this aging property back from the brink. With plenty of surrounding options offering better value—and likely far happier to welcome guests—If this hotel wants to succeed, it needs associates who are invested in the experience and ownership willing to fix what desperately needs attention.
