We had a good time overall—beautiful, clean property with a great layout and plenty of poolside chairs (though surprisingly few on the beach). The highlight was the coffee shop near the lobby with amazing views, great coffee, and pastries. Our ground-floor room, unfortunately, had a persistent musty smell, which meant we had to keep the AC and fan running the entire time. Not ideal, but manageable. Food at the resort was hit or miss. The steakhouse and buffet were our go-to dinner spots, and while the buffet was decent, it lacked variety—some themed nights or rotating dishes would really improve the experience. The Italian restaurant was a disappointment, and the Mexican option was just average. Based on what we heard from other guests, we decided to skip the Chinese restaurant altogether. Entertainment was just ok. The biggest downside was the towel policy—staff removed towels from chairs even if you had personal items on them, which got frustrating. It disrupted our mornings and felt unnecessary, especially with plenty of chairs available. Not a bad stay, but due to food and policy issues, we’re unlikely to return.

This is my second time staying at Riu at San Cabo Lucas, between Riu Palace and Santa Fe, they are both very good. Between the food, staff, and amenities they have a lot to offer. Very kid friendly. I wish they had more activities for the kids to do through out the day. Drinks were okay, they could of definitely been better. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I are frequent patrons of RIU hotels. We have never been disappointed with the quality of service or food choices and quality. There was one service provider (Table server) who served us on multiple occasions who was exemplary. A young lady named Blanca. She has a gift for her attentiveness and commitment to quality of service. She couples that with making genuine connections with her guests. A service staff of Blanca's would guarantee return customers.. She should be recognized and rewarded.

The suites were comfortable and restaurant service was very good and attentive. We went to Cabo celebrate my milestone birthday which I had emailed about multiple times before arriving. My wife arranged a romantic private dinner on my birthday, selected all courses and drinks and even was told the price. The day before, the concierge, Mitzy, cancelled our dinner saying that multiple weddings were a bigger priority. This was our first Riu experience and most likely will be our last. We were left with an unpleasant taste and were not wowed. I even sent a request on the RIU app which went unanswered. Do better or lose affluent customers like me and my friends!

We’ve stayed at Riu Palace before and loved it. However, I would NEVER book partial ocean view again. The view was terrible - it was a sliver of ocean view surrounded by dirt/dry hills. We did not utilize the balcony at all because the view was extremely depressing.

This trip started off on the wrong foot with extremely poor treatment by management. The way we were treated at check-in was so unprofessional, I was honestly in disbelief. There was a mix up with our reservation and the way Maritzia, the manager, handled the situation was terrible to say the least. After this, it oftentimes felt like we were being targeted by security. This being said, the facility is nice and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the lobby bar the most- the views were stunning and the ambience amazing. This was the our second time staying at this hotel, but we will not be coming back. Despite the positives, being treated so poorly by the management has ensured we will never stay at a RIU resort again.
