The property was beautiful, beautiful scenery. Majority of staff interactions was positive but it was obvious they were short staffed. We made a few requests and we had to ask a few times to get these. We don’t think it’s the staffs fault that there were these issues, these were due to insufficient staffing by the proprietors. Restaurants were overpriced for the food available. We didn’t feel it was of British 5 star standards.

Beautiful new property in the middle of a valley, perfect for a long weekend away! Only improvement we recommend would be more sun loungers and greater capacity for the main restaurant, so can cater to all when busy.

Okay so the property is absolutely gorgeous and picturesque but the service is terrible ! First of all the reception don’t welcome you when you arrive , they lack hospitality. Infact no one gave us a tour nor showed us the amenities of the hotel , we had to figure out on our own . If you are here for pictures and aesthetics then you can stay at the hotel for 2 days maximum ! Other than that it really has nothing to offer . Also the kids were pretty much screaming the whole time at the pool so you don’t even get to use it !

Hotel product is excellent but service level terrible in the restaurant. They obviously haven’t been able to get the staff in this new and more remote location leading to a dreadful experience for diners. Main courses at dinner came out with 20 minutes between them and breakfast time orders had a 50% chance of not being delivered. Lots of stressed guests and staff as a result. We gave up on the restaurant as it was so slow and negative and we cooked in the room instead. That’s not the way it should be and I would say the restaurant experience makes the hotel unbookable unless they can sort it out.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Viceroy Ombria Algarve, and it exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always eager to help without being intrusive. The architecture is truly a standout feature: modern yet rooted in the local aesthetic, with beautiful design touches throughout that made the entire property feel luxurious and unique. The pools were absolutely incredible—serene, well-designed, and perfect for relaxing under the Algarve sun. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean, and every space feels modern and updated, clearly reflecting the care that went into its recent opening. We also spent some time at the spa, which was nothing short of perfection. From the ambiance to the quality of treatments, it was a top-tier wellness experience. The on-site restaurants were also excellent. Each meal we had was flavorful and beautifully presented, with a variety of options that catered to both local and international palates. One important note for future guests: the hotel is located in the countryside, so it’s a good 30–45 minutes by car to the coastal Algarve towns and beaches. A rental car is definitely recommended if you plan to explore beyond the resort. Property is secluded and beautiful, very new and very quiet. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the room and property are spotlessly clean. Staff was attentive and helpful. The only drawback was in-room AC - it didn’t seem to be working, even after we complained and had it checked. It was a bit muggy in the room given it was Portugal in July. The pools were beautiful, sweeping views, and the restaurants were fantastic. This was a really relaxing and beautiful property, would definitely go back!

Absolutely beautiful. Well worth getting out of the super touristy areas for piece and quiet. It closely resembles Ojai Valley Inn in California, but far more affordable. Fantastic for kids where you can let them roam without fretting. This hotel isn’t close to anything but what you get in exchange is peace and relaxation. We stayed at the Conrad 15km away and preferred the Viceroy.

Really enjoyed our stay - the only thing missing was a decent bar to have a drink and watch the sunset.
