Location
On the border of Switzerland and Italy, the city of Lugano is famous for its stunning location, rich cultural heritage and excellent restaurants and cafés. The local farmers’ market (Tuesdays and Fridays) in Via Carducci (20 mins walk) is the place to go to pick up the best ingredients if you want to cook at home.

The city hosts many festivals throughout the year, including the “Luganomusica” festival every summer. MASI (the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland) (a 20-minute walk) hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions.

A day trip exploring the Lago Lugano is a must, as is a walk along Lugano’s famous waterfront, with breathtaking views over the lake. For a more active break, there are regular mountain running races throughout the year as part of the Ticino Mountain Running Cup.

For business travellers, the apartment is just an 11-minute walk from the Centro Esposizioni Lugano exhibition centre and an 18-minute walk from the Palazzo Dei Congressi Lugano.

The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour and 5 minutes away by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 20-minute journey. Arriving by train? Lugano’s railway station is a 25 minute walk from the apartment.
