In Wollersum (approx. 1km away) there is a popular natural bathing area (river Eider). North Sea / beach in Wesselburenerkoog (natural beach) is about 15 km away, Büsum with its family pearl bay about 20 km, St-Peter-Ording (beach) about 30 km away. The Dutch town Friedrichstadt 6 km, Tönning 6 km. In the surrounding area there are many different well-marked bicycle routes/tours, bicycle sheds available. There are also fishing opportunities in the area and the fish can be taken directly and even smoked (smoking barrel and chest available).
