I cancelled my non-refundable reservation for 2 nights as I was unable to travel due to illness. I contacted the hotel 2X to request pls. charge me for the for the 1st night only and refund the 2nd night. Request was denied. A bit of flexibility and understanding would of been much appreciated, and ensured a loyal customer.

Upon checking in 2e were told we needed to upgrade due to our 5 year old needing an extra bed in the room, however upon receiving the paperwork we noticed only two adults remained but the room was ``upgraded`` and we were charged for it despite asking about the free upgrade from our VIP benefits with expedia- everything else was ok- only problem was the room upgrade. I would like to reveibe either a complety refund for that extra charge of approximately $50 or some type of benefit because of this inconvenience. Another thing to note is thay we actyally booked at a second Barcelo location in Barcelona today, specifically Occidental Diagonal 414 and we were not charge for our son but were upgraded to a luxury room with coty views without even asking for the upgrade. Which we highly appreciated. What can be done?

I stayed one night at this hotel. Pros: -The hotel is in a great location -Everyone we interacted with on the hotel side was outstanding, from reception to housekeeping to maintenance to the bellhops. -Hotel was noticeably clean, although I did find some hairs in the shower (it happens). Cons: -There were motion sensors in our room: if we didn’t move every 5-10 mins, the lights would turn off and we’d have to get up and flip the light switch. -Shower drain didn’t work and flooded our entire bathroom, but they sent someone to correct the issue quickly. -Shower didn’t have hot water at night (guessing it was peak time) -We were given a welcome gift of a drink and tapas in the hotel bar. We sat down in the bar while the bartender actively ignored us and interacted with everyone else in the bar. (I have lived in Spain and my family is Spanish-this wasn’t your typical aloof Spanish service.) He wouldn’t come anywhere near our table, and there were only two other occupied tables at the time. After trying (and failing) to get his attention for over 20 minutes, we cut our losses and left. It was disappointing. Overall, this hotel was ok, but it is definitely NOT five star quality as reported. After my experience, I’d say it’s closer to 3.5 or 4 stars. Loved the area and the staff (minus the bartender), but I would probably explore a different property the next time I’m in Madrid.

My new favourite hotel in Madrid…. And there are a lot to choose from. The location is just perfect , taxis everywhere, subway near by and a safe interesting walk to most central points of interest. The rooms were comfy and clean, the bathrooms were well thought out and really decent water pressure in bathes and shower . The breakfast is one of the best i have had the pleasure to enjoy and all the staff from the front office people to the room cleaners are delightful, i will definitely stay there again

Mi esposa y yo quedamos encantados del servicio de este hotel, fue muy conveniente para usar el transporte publico, muy limpio y todos muy amables, Ivan en recepción fue mas q amable el hizo que nuestra estadía fuera de lo mejor por su amabilidad. Lo único q no me gusto fue que la última noche de mi estadía quise disfrutar de una bebida en el bar pero el bartender ni siquiera nos prestó atención despues de esperar por mas de 10min sin siquiera tener la atención del bartender decidimos irnos, y lo unico q queria comprar era una botella de agua, pero por lo de mas definitivamente volveria a este hotel cuando este nuevamente en Madrid.
