Mario was very kind. When I arrived the hostal, he had an excuse that our stay won’t be available as reserved for some reason, he would take us a near by hostal ‘ el cataline’. The room was okay. But the noise never stopped until 6am in the morning. We stayed 2nights, 2 nights of noise from street, no sleep. The location was very good If good night sleep is important, stay out of city. People enjoy night life until 4am then the construction noise start from 4am.

4-night stay exploring Madrid

The manager Mario was very helpful. My room was made up every day. Not the best if you have difficulties climbing stairs with your suitcase, but that’s how the buildings are in central Madrid. Lots of good restaurants that Mario suggested. Excellent location - walkable to everything!

The place was very small, and uncomfortable, the entrance to the building was dirty and no elevator, the manager very nice!

Small hostal in great area

Very nice small hostal (hotel) in a great area; very close to the Gran Via Metro station. My room was large, , very clean, with a mini-fridge, tea kettle, small table and 2 chairs. Just a few metres away is a cute plaza (square) with a Starbucks and some small shops. Also close by is a food mercado.

Very good hostal in the center,near Gran Via. Clean,silent and convenient. I liked everything,except the terrible stairs. They are just dangerous.

Hostel stay

It was an experience staying at a hostel, I am spoiled I am used to hotels. Overall the place was clean, comfortable and inexpensive, we had our own private bathroom. Mario who took care of place was great and very accommodating. One of the downside, no elevators and we had a pretty heavy suitcase and no front desk or lobby clerk. The picture on the website is very different from the actual room. I was expecting a nice view from my room where I can sit at the quaint little table and chairs and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine looking out.

The hostel was in a perfect location, 2 blocks off the Gran Via and within walking distance of most sights. Mario, the owner was so helpful and friendly from the time I booked the room right through the last day if my stay. He really works hard for his guests to have a wonderful stay. I will stay here again when I visit Madrid again!

Excellent location, cute balcony, v clean, nice personal touches. The toilet door was more of a stall than a door so there was a large gap which gave no sound privacy

Great location.

The location of this hotel is perfect. Right in the middle of madrid downtown. With access to 2 metro stations in less than 5 min walking. Staff is nice and so helpful. And the cleanliness is perfect. There is also a nice market 2 min away and lots of rest and bars near by. A tiny recommendation; matresses could be a bit better but a nice overall experience

Grumpy front desk and overpriced

The place was ok, but overpriced. The person at the front desk was super grumpy all the time! He got into an argument with my boyfriend because he rang the bell, while his hands where full of stuff making it impossible for him to open the door. He also complained for 30mins on how we didnt let him know at what time we were doing the check in, when weren't aware that we were required to do so.
