Functional apartment in a great neighborhood
This is a functional small apartment in a cool, lively neighborhood. All sorts of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, various entertainment, a grocery store. Walking distance to the palace and park & many sites. The hosts were very nice & make check in pretty easy and answered quickly when we had a question. Gets noisy late at night. People in neighboring condo were very noisy despite the no party rules. Some issues were no basic kitchen supplies like salt, pepper, oil. Two nonstick pans there were very worn. Upon arrival we found the shower floor had a big hole in the corner that I reported immediately & was questioned if we had done it. If we left it, the water would have gone through to the downstairs. We found that a ceiling to floor shower caddy had been ripped out by maintenance & left in the kitchen. We contacted the hosts immediately who were quick to respond & arranged for maintenance to patch the hole which they did. The shower water pressure is good but the shower very small. There is no place for soap, shampoos, and easy to hit the tap when moving about. The bed & pillows were comfortable. Nice sheets. There is A/C and a fan. There were no nightstands as it’s a small room and you can only get out of bed on one side. Overall the place doesn’t look quite as nice as the pictures, but it was functional, clean, and in a really cool part of Madrid.
