We enjoyed a wonderful week at Nora’s Getaway. The property is beautiful inside and out, and had everything that we needed for a brilliant week’s stay. We stayed in scorching July, but with air-con throughout, we were comfortable and cool in the living spaces and the bedrooms. The two main bedrooms each have a lovely en-suite and our teenage son loved having the top floor to himself, complete with TV, sofa, and balcony. The gardens had some really pretty plants and were surrounded by vines and the views from the pool and seating area over the valley are truly stunning. We made good use of the pool and loungers, but needed the shady area too as the weather was wall-to-wall sunshine. Access straight from the pool area to the downstairs shower and WC meant we weren’t dripping pool water through the house. Each night we loved either putting something on the grill or making pizzas in the pizza oven. The outside seating is comfortable and a great place to enjoy the evening. The location is stunning. There are supermarkets, restaurants and shops in Marco de Canaveses which is less than 10 minutes in the car. We also went further afield to enjoy paddle boarding at Batetos beach and an evening cruise on the Douro. Pedro, Miguel, and Alexandre were great hosts before and during our stay. Arrival and departure were simple and the one bit of help we needed with wood for the pizza oven was addressed the same day. We couldn’t have asked for more.
